Fry Region: #4 Mom vs #5 Calculon

In the second Fry Region Quarterfinal match-up, we have Mom versus Calculon. Mom's eased her way to this stage, defeating Colleen and Fatbot. Calculon likewise easily prevailed over That Guy, but faced a scare against Robot Santa. Who'll move on here? Discuss now and the poll will open at midnight tonight!

I could see Calculon getting a few votes, but I am voting Mom on this one and expect her to win. I don't even really like Calculon, but Mom is one of my favorite characters and has been a part of so many fabulous plots.

As hilarious as I find Calculon and his UNHOLY ACTING TALENT, Mom is just a great villain in that she's both evil and completely hilarious.

I do like Calculon even though ihe is annoying sometimes.  Probably because he reminds me of the way a friend of mine exaggerates.  But mom is of course the better character.

I'm chuckling to my self recalling the wedding scene from Bend Her, though

Mom, definitely. Never really liked Calculon all that much and think he should definitely have lost against Robot Santa last round, which then would have made this round quite a lot harder to pick a winner for me.

Mom, both in terms of humor and in terms of story-relevance. Calculon has his moments, yes, but with the exception of "Bend Her" (and maybe "The Honking" or "The Beast With a Billion Backs"), he's not really used to any practical purpose. Mom, meanwhile, has played a big role in a number of episodes, and has an important, disgustingly wrinkly relationship with one of the show's main characters.

So, yeah. She gets my vote.

"Only a very good actor can play a bad actor".

I'm disappointed Calculon is about to lose.  I think he's one of the best characters, because you know what you're going to get, and he delivers.  This aside:

I really hoped he could make it all the way.  The way it's playing out, I get the feeling I'm going to be highly disappointed with the results.

I love Calculon, I really do.
But, there are few characters who can actually compete with Mom. No one ruins a boy makes me laugh quite like she can.
