Last round Roberto practiced his stabbing on Fishy Joe while Smitty beat Larry with his lightbaton. Who'll move on in this match-up of robbers and cops? Discuss now and the poll will open tonight at midnight!

I'm gonna go with Roberto because, while I find Smitty (or more specifically Smitty and URL) funny enough, thinking about Roberto's "Ha-HAAH!"s always makes me laugh out loud.

URL is the funnier one in the Smitty / URL duo and Roberto is tons more funny than Smitty ever was.
So can't imagine Smitty on his own in an episode, it would probably fail hard.

Yeah, I agree that Smitty is the weaker half of the law enforcement duo. Roberto, meanwhile, is part of what makes "Insane in the Mainframe" one of my all-time favorite episodes. I can't say that it was necessary to utilize him in other episodes, because in some ways I feel like his subsequent appearances (specifically in "Bender's Game," but I suppose "Law and Oracle" also applies) sully the awesomeness of his first appearance, but he still gets my vote.

Roberto, for delivering one of the most hilarious showdowns in IitMF.

This is a tough call for me as I like both characters a lot, but I think I'll go with Roberto. He's one of my favourite robot designs in the show, whereas Smitty is one of favourite voices in the show, but I probably find Roberto slightly funnier - mostly for the final act of Insane in the Mainframe so I think he has my vote.

I too found this the toughest choice in this round but like cyber_turnip I've gone for Roberto, and for similar reasons.

"I outta stab you. You wanna be stabbed?"

I like Smitty but he needs to be in conjunction with URL.

I actually totally just voted for the wrong one. Damn. Anyways, I was going to go for Roberto, because Insane in the Mainframe is great (you no good fifty-sixer!). But I don't have a super strong opinion so I guess it is okay that I messed this one up.

This was the toughest decision of the region for me. After much flip-flopping, I've decided to vote for Smitty. I've liked him since the pilot and out of almost all of the lesser characters, Smitty and Url feel the most classic and essential to me. Roberto makes me laugh harder and I don't like voting against him but oh well, looks like he's got enough votes to advance anyway.

Roberto wins 17-3. Continue discussion in the General thread.
