Bender Region: #6 Fabulous Randy vs #22 Turanga Munda

We just saw Munda's husband Morris defeated handily by Fry, let's see how the cinderella that got past the 5 seed Walt deals with powerhouse Fabulous Randy, who easily dealt with Dean Vernon last round. Who'll move on? Discuss now and the poll will open tonight at midnight!

I'll have to go with Munda here. Randy is fabulous but I always felt he had too many eyes and not enough tentacles...

By which I mean I'm voting for Munda because she looks cooler.

Randy is a fun background character, but then he is only that, a background character, who once in a while gets pushed a bit into the spotlight (most recently talking to Fry on a park bench), just for him to disappear again.

Munda on the other hand was an important character in quite a few episodes.

Randy is a funny character ("There are parts of the Bible I like and parts I don't like!"), but Munda has had greater significance for the show. And, though her general character traits are a little cliche (she's a nagging mother. If I wanted to see one of those, I'd just spend time my own mom), her interactions with Leela are still really funny to me.

Oh, and her existence has given me some of my favorite episodes ("Leela's Homeworld," "Less Than Hero," and "Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles" are all brilliant, I think). So that has to count for more than a few funny lines here and there by Randy.

Randy's not really significant, but damn, was he funny. Up until they ruined him in Overclockwise.

Munda is always fun, and has yet to be significantly fucked-with by the writers for a cheap laugh or two, so she gets my vote here.

I don't find Randy funny so much as I find John DiMaggio getting extremely excited whenever Randy comes on screen in commentaries funny.

Either way, I prefer Randy to Turanga Munda.

"Leela's parent" always were some kind of one single character, and Munda and Morris were just the single parts of that character (even more than Linda and Morbo).
One of them alone does not really work for me. So -despite I do not consider Randy a very special character- I rather vote for him.

I disagree. They could kill off Morris and still have a role for Munda.

Munda! I'm excited for the Season 7 ep about her. She's hilarious and I definitely think she's a distinct entity completely from Morris.

Yay, Munda for the win. I wouldn't have expected that initially, but reading the comments it seems she has quite a few supporters.
