The Series Has Landed, almost completely solely because of Zoidberg's introduction.  "Young lady, I'm an expert on humans!"

Damn, I love them all - but I'm gonna go with Love's Labour's Lost In Space. Zapp Brannigan was nothing short of hillarious in that episode.

Oh man I gotta say The Series Has Landed. There's some great quotes in that one.

Robot On Lunar Ride: One of these days Alice, bang, zoom, strait to the moon.
Leela: Wow!  I never realized the first astronauts were so fat.
Fry: That's not an astronaut, it's a TV comedian, and he was just using space travel as a metaphor for beating his wife.

All are good in their own way, but "A Big Peice of Garbage" is the fairly easy winner.  Only "Space Pilot" and maybe "Hell is other Robots" would really make it into a top 20.  In the case of "Garbage", its just amazingly hilarious with many of my favorite gags, and also has some subperb satire.

Personally, I'm amazed at how well A Big Piece Of Garbage is going. I just never found it that funny - most of the jokes just seemed really lame to me, especially that one about never giving up...

Oh well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

The Series Has Landed. IMO the funniest ep of the first season while all eps are packed with jokes.  But it was just a great intro to Zoidberg and just a good story.

Love's Labours Lost in Space.

We get to meet the great Zapp Brannigan, and see why he is the true man for Leela, it is so sad that she doesn't know that he is the best man for her, we also get to meet Kif and Nibbler for the first time

Best of the best of the first season! Woo! I'd have voted for Fry and the Slurm Factory if we were doing the "real" season one.

It's too close to call between Love Labours Lost in Space and Hell is Other Robots. I roomamate need a mention too.
I really can't pick. Oh well looks like it's down to Ini-Meani Minei Mo...

Oh yeah and it's not that I dislike it or anything, but why the hell is Episode 2: The Series Has Landed doing so well!?  it's good but NOT the best by a long way!

My favourite is SP3K, because it's the one that started it all, and in and of itself it's such a wonderful episode.  My second favorite is probably Hell Is Other Robots.

Introduced Kif and Zapp, the best science fiction comedy duo since the beginning of time. Their conversation in the observation lounge alone should ensure this episode victory.

We're doing it by airing seasons because there's no way in Hell I could pick between "Hellis Other Robots" and the "Slurm Factory"!

Needless to say what I went with, but they ARE all great eps and it was a difficult choice.

My favorites are SP3000, My 3 suns (especially the begining with the organ dealer ('wanna buy organ? fresh and ready to transplant') , hell is other robots
but I chose Love labors because zapp brannigan is at his best of all seasons.
