I never realised "Hell Is Other Robots" was this popular. Sure it's a funny episode, and the song is great, but in my opinion both LLLIS, "The Series Has Landed" and SP3k outshines it.

I went for Hell Is Other Robots because its a good episode, the best out of the options, and I can't seem to find Fry and The Slurm Factory.

I love Space Pilot 3000 for it's storyline (it's among my 5 most watched episodes), but I voted for LLLIS because I'm a big Zapp/Kiff fan.

I really think this should have been done in the proper seasons order. Not Foxs totally random mess! Anyway Hell is Other Robots would still get my vote from Season 1. But it might get different with the later seasons if we go with Fox!

This was a very hard choice, but i went with LLLIS because of Zapp Brannigan.  That guy rocks.  "I'm gonna fly her brains out." and "Whadda say we knock some very sensual boots." and  "gravity boost or something."

I agree.  The DVD set for season one should be the standard.

"Hell is Other Robots." Any show with religious connotations becomes funny.

By the way, is this going to be by production season or by Fox's seasons?

I went with "the series has landed," as well. For me it has all the intro bits but with a lot more heart than the 1st ep.

runners up: Love's Labors Lost in Space and I, Roomate (I don't care what anyone says about that one, it's funny and i love it)

This is tricky.  Probably one of the first four episodes, but I'm not sure which one.

Tricky and difficult, if you want to do research and technical critique.  Heck with it, I'm voting from the heart.  SP3K.

Sure, I hate FOX's scheduling, but the seasons list is better, since it's easier to remember and... I dunno.

My order:
1) A Big Piece of Garbage
2) A Fishful of Dollars
3) The Series Has Landed
4) Space Pilot 3000
5) I, Roomate

Love's Labours might have done better, but the mental picture of Zapp and Leela together makes me shiver. Funny, my US S1 DVD has the predominately British spelling of Labor on it. Is that the accepted title of the episode?

Er, what?  Last time I checked it was the US that drops "u" from words.  The British spelling is "Labour", as in the Labour party.

Yep, my UK DVD set lists the episode as "Love's Labours Lost in Space".

Oh my, one of the toughest choices ever!
They are all just 4 y.o., but already sooo classic.
SP3K? Great one, first one, but watched it for 100s times already...
TSHL? "Blackjack and hookers" lines - that's already a proverb, noone will ever forget. PE's 1st delivery...
Roommate, LLLIS, Bot Planet... - all S.1 eps are just equally brilliant and outstanding.
But there is that one, which has something special - that greatest musical thing, I keep singing until now when in a good mood. Thanx DiMaggio and my fellow countrywoman, Katya Sagal - let it be Hell Is Other Robots.

Actually, all those quotes are from "A Flight To Remember" - but still, LLLIS is a terrific episode.

My favourite episode used to be My 3 Suns but I have to go with the pilot, simply because this is where it all began....So many cool jokes and characters we see for the first time, and Fry's stupidity/indifference just shines....a taste of things to come  :D

Yeah, I'm surprised I,Roommate isn't more popular. Having said that, I voted for A Big Piece of Garbage. Season 1 is quality throughout making the choice a difficult one.

I also like the idea of using FOX's seasons since it spreads out the episodes and gives us an extra season to vote on.

I had to watch My 3 Suns about 5 or 6 times before it established itself as my clear favorite... but come on...

Top 5 quotes from My 3 Suns:

5.Did you ever stop to think that I might be happier with gills?
4.In your face Gorgak!
3.I wouldn't be talking about taste if I were wearing a lime green tank top... *Bam*
2.... and I once ate a big heaping bowl full of salt.
1. Good work men! The veneer is starting to peel!

that whole episode is nothing but pearls. Also, the colors are gorgeous... Futurama really is one of the most beautifully animated shows on television.

Those and when Fry says:
"This is MY neighbourhood. *to an alien* What up?"
Alien: "Hey!"
Fry: "See?"

That was great. And the crack addict.

Agreed! This is a great episode with some classic lines.

Leela: So after I specifically asked you not to touch anything, you drank a bottle of strange blue liquid? It could have been poisonous acid!

Fry: It could have been. But chances were equally as good it was an Emperor.

Another great exchange between Fry and Leela...

Leela: You're in tremendous danger you idiot! Half of these Emperor's were drunk at their own coronation.

Fry: Hey I plan on having a few brewskis myself.

I'm so glad you mentioned that... I was going to try to fit it in, but it was less of a quote and more of a gag (so hilarious) also, it is the first appearance of the spice weasel...and Fry's tone of voice when he says "Cut it out Bender, that's a tender area" is the best. Billy West is a god damn genius... as you can most likely see, I can go on about the virtues of this episode for days...
