Good for you that so far, there aren't really any people that disagree with you.
Well hypothetically speaking of course (well mostly there's always that one person...).

8.5 for me. I enjoyed the "in-jokes" and the parody atmosphere.
I'll give it a 10 if it pisses HJS off enough to leave. Forever.

Bender's comment seems so apropos for those of us who ship: "That's all you get, jerks!"
It's also a parody of Porky Pig saying "Th-Th-Th-That's All, Folks!" If next few episodes of next season is as bad as this last one I'm going to stop watching it.
I hope you do, we won't have to listen to your poorly written criticisms
Seconded. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, homerjaysimpson.
Why would anyone (a) waste their time by watching a show they don't like, and (b) waste their time by posting about how bad that show was? I mean, I could see people doing maybe one of these things, but both? That's just stupid. *** I liked the first two parts. (I'm not a fan of anime, but I did pick up on some of the inside jokes there: "Ha ha!") The black and white (okay, greyscale) rainbow was a humorous touch. For those of you who don't understand the hopping-up-and-down reference, you should check out "Steamboat Willie", one of the first Disney cartoons. The second part was probably my favorite. "I'm surprised you lived through that sentence" was a good line. Neat references to Space Invaders, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Mario, Galaga, and Tempest. Did anyone framegrab the equation on the board? It looks like it says something. (BTW, in the real world --- that's on your side of the computer screen, meatbag --- the idea that the universe is a cellular automaton --- a big video game --- is one of the "Theories of Everything.")

Wow, I was surprised at the quality of this one. I liked that there was some sort of opening (differing from TFHS) and I loved the Galactic Entity. All sections that followed were greatly done, though my biggest peeve was probably the second one - while I adored the story, there were several way too cheap jokes. It felt like it had been done to a certain degree. My favourite? Can't... choose! 9/10 on first view. Another thing: "The concept of owls as pests is revisited." (from the infosphere)
Did I miss something?
I had the same thought. I'll rewatch it tonight after everyone goes to bed to confirm. It's possible that an owl is *seen* but I don't know. Just cuz I founded the Infosphere doesn't mean I always know what they're talking about ;-)
Owls are circulating the PE headquarters at the very beginning of the anime section.

Yeah, that was hilarious. I thought the anime segment would have a lot of really poor, obvious references, but it was probably the one I laughed the most to (not necessarily the one I enjoyed the most, though).

I watched this episode with a friend, which always kind of screws with my impression of the episode (Am I laughing because I'm truly amused? Am I laughing because my friend is laughing? Am I laughing because I want my friend to recognize that Futurama is brilliant, even if that particular gag probably wasn't worthy of such chortles?), so I'll have to give it a rewatch before I make a definitive call.
But my first impression is that this episode was so very, very great. Innovative and fun and spot-on with a lot of the animation observations (I laughed so freaking hard during the anime segment every time they showed Japanese architecture and put a caption like "Central Park" or "Omaha, Nebraska" over it). I thought the first segment did the best job of feeling "legitimate" and evocative of what it was parodying, but the anime segment comes close. The video game segment didn't seem to take full advantage of the form, but it had some great moments (I liked the sadness meter).
I'm thinking this is at least an 8/10, possibly higher. I wasn't expecting this one to be as great as it was.

My favorite was far and away the first segment. It was cute, funny and very sweet.
Second episode was the weakest I thought. Interesting story, but unlike the other two, the "ITS A VIDEOGAME" felt gimmicky and mostly coincidental to the story, like if it had been a normally animated episode, the story and most of the jokes wouldnt be affected at all.
Third episode was fun, though it didnt really feel like a spoof of anime, more jokes people who have never watched anime have. Still great fun.
I was also disappointed that Amy was made to look like two iconic characters in the first and last segments (Betty Boop and Sailor Moon) but nothing was really made out of either of them. I mean c'mon, the bit when the characters was transforming, was a perfect oppertunity for a parody of magical girl henshins. Betty Boop was one of Flesicher's most famous creations, so I think they could have honored him a bit more with a few jokes about her. Like the Hayes Code showing up and forcing Amy to dress more "wholesome" and everyone turning away from her in boredom and disgust (which is what led to Betty Boop's decline in her heyday)
If they do Reincarnation again, I really would LOVE one segment done in Edward Gorey's style. He was a massive fan of sci fi, so I can imagine him loving Futurama (he died about a year after it came out, so I dont know if he was a fan.)
I would also love a puppet or a claymation one like they considered.

Well, there was one joke with a Betty Boop reference. When they had piled out of the ship and everyone bumped into each other, Amy said, "Watch it stumble bums, you're Booping my Betty." Not much, but it was an acknowledgement. I agree that it would have been awesome to see something Sailor Moon-ish. I loved Leela's line as they were on the balcony, with everything bouncing and bopping around: "I love this time of day. There's such a beautiful stillness." Visually, I loved the third segment the best, but in terms of story, the first segment takes it. Is this episode memorable, and will it be on my top-ten list? I can say even now, "Blorg, blorg, a thousand times, blorg!"

This one turned out much better than I expected. The 8-bit segment was definitely the best but the anime part fell a bit short for me. I also liked how they used the black and white segment to cheat in the new color Fry created and how they used the comet to tie all the segments together somewhat.

Thank fuck. Good riddance. Great ep, the weakest segment was the Anime one, but overall awesome, really loved the 20s style part, and the Low-Res game part was hilarious. Nice. Was good to see the return of the God Entity too, and according to the Infopshere: Diamondium reappears, another TBWABB element.I don't recall... 9/10

I don't recall... Farnsworth's Dimondium goes up against Wernstrom's Diamondillium in a bid to construct an impenetrable sheild around the Earth to keep Yivo out. DeathBall determines Diamondillium to be the winner. After it proves ineffective, Farnsworth fires a Dimondium cannon at Yivo. I thought this episode was solid. I was all right with the 8-bit segment having limited references to specific video games, as AoI2 played that hand pretty well. I'm hoping for another Reincarnation (puppets! Claymation!), as well as another AoI.

Yes, I know all of that, I mean where did it appear in Reincarnation? The comet was made from it?
