If you guys still want to try and get Futurama back on the air then you should do what Star Trek fans are doing to prevent Star Trek Enterprise from being cancelled.

I hear Trekkies are rallying in great numbers and are even making donatations.  I hear they're up to 3 million dollars.

3 million dollars! Then I guess we'll have to raise $3,000,000.01...and start rallying in great numbers...with anchoives! Okay, maybe not the anchoives part, but you get the point.

I dont really understand how raising money will bring the show back....

If we raised that kind of money I sure as hell wouldnt give it to Fox to buy the rights to Futurama, and thats about all we could do with the money unless Im missing something here

I thought Trekkies hated Enterprise...

Anyway, I don't think we could just pay Fox to continue the series.  Political kickback gives all the financing they need.  As for buying the rights...lsat I checked, they weren't selling.  Not to Matt and DXC, anyway.  And it'd take more than a few million bucks to get them to give up all the cash they're getting from sydication.

EDIT @Eyedol: Eleventy billion dollars.

I know I've asked before, and I know that I can never buy it (or a very miniscule chance I'd have), but how much would it cost to buy the Production and Airing rights?

I'd actually considered sending in money before, too. However, I don't think that it'd really make a difference. Though we know (or at least, hope) that they're paying attention to the DVD sales. I'm now buying the box sets for my friends' birthdays and stuff, regardless of whether they like Futurama or not. If the best-case scenario occurs, we'll get increased DVD sales, along with more fans. And that's a good thing. ^_^

That's a great idea! I also agree with buying DVD sets. Apparently, FOX is bringing Family Guy back because of DVD sales; sales reflecting popularity. And don't forget to be the network's biggest pain in the ass ever! The trouble with raising dough is that FOX has already got plenty; what use is a few more bux for them?

The main point is to send in your anchovies ever 25th with the new label and send in a letter as well - Polite, yet factual about why futurama was cancelled and why it was Foxs fault not the fans

Hear hear. Buying merchandise may provide the network with data, but it isn't necessarily a demand for re-airing. You're right Slackit; addressing FOX personally shows that you care enough to take the time to appeal the cancellation of the show.

Well...Family Guy got cancelled like two years ago and their making a comeback....but I think your right...if Fox was to bring Futurama back...we would of got word of it off the Internet and gossip.
Futurama is a good show to watch still even after all this time and we should all be so lucky it lasted so long in television history....another notch to Matt Groenings belt. He should be very proud of the efforts he did for the show...if it wasnt for Fox'es stupidity Futurama might still be on the air...they didnt promote it much...or air it much as here in Illinois when it was suppose to be on Football games overlapped it and Fox never replayed the episodes later on during the night...if anyones to blame and some people if not all will agree its Fox...but I lost hope in this show making a comeback...although I wish it would its likely it won't....so I got my Dvds of the show and will enjoy what memories and the episodes I have on those rainy or snowy cold nights when I need a laugh.

Yeah, if there was to be a Family Guy like comeback, it would happen this year, but alittle later than now, because Futurama did stop new broadcasts after FG. Either way, if anybody is expecting FG and Futurama to have the exact same type of time between cancelation and renewal, it would have to come this or next month. But hey! All we want is it TO come back.

Monster Robot Maniac Collection
Not sure when it's coming out. It's definite for Region 2, but Region 1 was pushed back. Last I heard, it was May 10, but it was pushed back for Region 1. Not really that sure about it.

Well the only reason family guy came back on the air is becouse of the fans. People would send in thousands of letters and dipers(?) and bottles(?) and sometimes actual infants... well maby I made that last one up, but you get the point! I Wanted Family Guy back and created patitions and stuff...and now it's back... its not hopeless... WE CAN STILL BRING IT BACK!

Ecks - that is not the only reason Family Guy came back.  Trust us - Fox wouldnt bring back a show on fan obsessing alone - we have/continue to try.

The main reason it was brought back was because it was making money.  High ratings and High DVD sales convinced Fox that they could still make a profit. This is why it is very important to buy the DVD's for yourself and friends  :)

With the sales of the Freakin Sweet Collection, it was just the kick in the butt Fox needed to bring back Family Guy.  With an equivelent DVD for Futurama being made (however delayed) we are hoping that high sales of this DVD, along with the sets and the fan support can bring back Futurama

I just got this month's GamePro magazine. On one of the ads at the beginning, there was an ad about Fox's "Animation Invasion". I looked at the lineup: King of the Hill, Malcolm in the Middle, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad. The lineup was the one for May 1, and I noticed one thing that was weird with the lineup, other than Malcolm not being a cartoon: It had all of the current lineup like it is, and then, after the Simpsons at the slot that looked like 8, "8:30" was empty because of Stewies head, and then there were the Seth McFarlane(sp) shows. It just makes you wonder, why is there the empy spot? Perhaps a Futurama return is being speculated, but not told to anybody but top executives and maybe the Futurama head staff. Or maybe it was just a spot that was actually Arrested Development and they didn't put it in, I don't know. I really hope it's the first.

Anyway, everyday this week, I've been watching Futurama on [as], so I'm helping the cause. EVERYBODY WILL WATCH IT ON [as]! I'M HYPNOTIZING YOU TO! DO IT! NOW! <Yeah, that was kinda wacko...if only I could hypnotize everyone to buy the DVDs and watch [as]...

I just found this site. I am amazed that I am not the only psycho who wants to see this show back on the air. I thought maybe I just have trouble letting things go. Hell, 9 seasons of Night Court wasn't enough for me, disturbing huh? But uh, that's another story though.

Anyway, I never thought FOX would bring back the Family Guy. Now that it's back, I WANT FUTURAMA!!! OH, and Cartoon network needs to play more Aqua Teens. I'll put stinky fish in the mail April 25th.

Welcome to PEEL, coolaidcb13. Enjoy your stay at Nerd-World.

You have to have the fish at Fox by the 25th, so send it two or three days early, depending on where you live, to get it to Fox at the right time.

I don't remember where the FAQ is, so somebody else is likely to post after this and say where it is.

Yeah, we'll need alot of money to do that. Fox owns production rights, so the only way that idea could happen is if we had enough money to buy it and produce it.

Kudos on the fanfic. I submitted one once, but it never showed up. Enh, it was too shippy anyway. I'm better at writing action or humor. Suspense is fun, too. ^_^ But putting all that aside, I think trying to create a Futurama movie is pretty unrealistic, unfortunately. A fan Flash animation is great, though, if that's what you're planning. As for voice actors, I've heard some OK ones on links given by CGEF, if ya wanna check that out. But I might also consider using clips from the show, if you can edit it into a coherent dialogue...

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Stop right there! There's no such thing as "too shippy". Nope. Nada. Doesn't exist. Not in the Becktionary, and definitely not in the rhyming one.

Enough wackiness. Where did you submit it to? CGEF? Because I don't think they're particulary focusing on fics and fanart. Submit it again to TLZ and they'll show it. I'll read it  :D Or you can just send it my way right away. I'm in desperate need of a shippy fic right now. (That or chocolate.)
