Fry is the man, the protagonist and also my favourite Futurama character. I think he's great but I wouldn't go as far with that as your poll suggests.

hes alright, in a mindnumbinly pathetic sort of way, the only time i ever related to his character was when in fistfull of dollars, him sitting there, watching old crap struggling to keep breathing.

Fry is allright. A great guy to spend a mindless afternoon with, a loyal friend and pretty funny. But both Leela and Zoidberg have him beat for my favorite and funniest character respectively.

I love Fry, he reminds me of my friend, he's that stupid too. I think he didn't know that sponges were real creatures.

I only ever really respected Fry at the end of LotF but I know he's much like all of us. I can relate to Fry.. One time, when going to my bathroom to wash the floor, I thought to myself how I hadn't done so in a few months. I went to get the scrub brush and there next to my shower.. a fuckin' mushroom. I kid you not. Just growing in between the tiles. So as I, too, had a mushroom in my shower.. I love the guy. ^^;

Without Fry there wouldn't be the best quote ever:
"Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm my own grandpa!"

Love him? I have a shrine for him in my closet!
...and the bathroom, and the kitchen, and the dining room, living room, den, brother's room, etc.

None of the above. I like Fry; he's entertaining, he's likable, he's compelling, and one simply must give him credit for persuing Leela... But I don't understand him. Fry's not the brightest crayon in the box, and I don't relate well to "intellectually challanged" characters. Now, Leela on the other hand... <Waves hand> *Snap* *Snap* Fugedabowdit!

The simple equation is pretty much this: No Fry=No Futurama. Fry is the most human of the cast, and because of this he's easy to relate to. Definitely my favorite character for his innocence and how funny he is (not as laugh-out-loud funny as Zoidberg, but he has more depth to him). Needless to say, I chose the first option.
