Welcome to PEEL Byte!  :)

I hate the DVD hub clips!  I was putting a DVD back in it's case, and the catch caught between the disc's layers!

I got my set yesterday. Here in Finland it's just a big box that opens in 3 different places. I've gone thru the first 3 discs. "A Leela Of Her Own" is possibly the worst episode of Futurama I've seen. Even "A Pharoah To Remember" beats it. Well, off to watch the table read then...Thanks for letting me know where to find it guys...

Welcome to PEEL AT.    :D

Don't let Teral hear that.  I'm almost through all the commentaries, and I think that even the weak episodes are good.

But maybe that's my excitement.

Welcome. Interesting about the Finland release. Is it like the Simpsons releases, where the case folds out?

Sigh. I feel like the Elves in Tolkiens books; fighting a loosing battle. Nevertheless, like the Elves, I keep fighting because it's the right thing to do!

"A Leela Of Her Own" is the most underrated episode in the entire run of Futurama.

In related news: I like the mentioning of CGEF in the "That's Lobstertainment" commentary.

Dammit, a second (and hopefully final) complaint - I had to stop the table read halfway through, but then when I came back to it found that I was unable to fast forward :-(

Table read is great though, although the singing is quite painful!

Don't worry, you're not alone. I love 'A Leela of Her Own', and I don't get why it's so underrated either. I think it, along with 'A Tale of Two Santas' are the most underrated eps   :)

Post Office should be open 2moro scott

Edit: If you are in newcastle this is a good sign, means that amazon shipments go through sydney and then on to other cities, which should mean brisbane and melbourne should get theirs first thing Tuesday.

Same here.  Amazon UK usually takes about 4 days to reach me here in Ohio, but it hasn't turned up yet.  I'm hoping it will be there when I get home this evening.  It will suck if I have to wait until Monday to get it.

I have an exam in 9hrs must sleep now

The clips are rather sucky  :hmpf:

When I got mine from WHSmiths I was rather disappointed when I opened them to see what the disc pictures were like to find that the box contained no discs... somebody in the shop had forgotten to put them in the cases, luckily I was still in town and ran straight back and got them, had I not looked till I got home I'd have been a bit irate.

I've only watched a few episodes so far but I'm very happy with it  :)

I think A Leela of her own is a great episode as well  :D

Yay!

::highfives Tweek and Otis::

I think both Maurice Lamarche and Tress Macneille are great in the auido commentaries. I didn't think it was possbile for someone to have a weirder voice than David Cohen, yet there is Tress having exactly that.

However I think having more than 2 voiceactors in an audio cemmentary is unfortunate. They tend to completely drown out the staff people (writer, director, producers).

I dunno, the bit in the "Pharoah to Remember" commentary where Billy West (as Fry) bemoans Leela's slave garb not showing her cleavage was funny.

Yeah, I thought so too. I also like how they re-animated the "BEEP ... BEEP ... BEEP BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP" scene "Insane In The Mainframe" 4 times.  ;)

Ah, someone remembered ... if you're wondering "why 35", it was originally supposed to be 3000 (referring to the year Fry is unfrozen), but, of course, there is no way to access 3000 on a DVD. So, in a convoluted way, it's 3K (and K on a phone key pad is represented by the number 5).

got mine yesterday. am currently going through The Cyber House Rules.

it sounds like the commentaries are a bit censored in a few places. Lobstertainment has a period of 88 seconds where nothing is said.

The finnish box set is is an ordinary amaray case, except it opens on three different places and it's this huge damn thing. I'll try to find a picture of it and post it here later on.

Anyway, I got thru the whole season yesterday.
S3 has the best episodes I've seen "The Day The Earth Stood Stupid" is probably the best. But from the three seasons I'd say the worst episode isn't "A Leela Of Her Own", but "The Cryonic Woman".

Also S3 seems to have the best commentaries of the lot. So far I have gotten thru the first disc and they're all top-notch.

Well, I guess, that #Nobody cares, nobody cares, nobody cares...Nobody cares, etc.#  :)

You don't really need to translate it, just press "35" on your DVD remote and it shows you the translation (the background says "FOX" by the way).

And Leela's is in an art gallery, with various pictures from within episodes on display. A nice touch is that you get half of a picture on one frame, and the second half on the other.
