This is a bit off topic but not too much.   big grin  I just went to see Pirates of Penzance a few days ago (great play by the way in case you haven't seen it)  And of course during intermission, my mind started wandering and thinking about Futurama.

I was thinking of Cap'n Skusting's Futurama Pirates and thought wouldn't it be cool to have the Futurama characters done up specifically like the characters in Pirates of Penzance? I even thought of who should play who:  Bender as the Pirate King, Fry as Fredrick, Leela as Mabel, the Professor as the Major General, Smitty or Randy for the head police (can't remember what his name is) and either Hattie or Mom for Ruth.

The only thing would be, how to have them identified as the characters from the play.  Maybe do them up as pirates (like what's been done) and them put one of the verses from the play underneath their picture or something. Or even do up a mock up movie poster saying which Futurama characters will be starring in the play.  I'm just kinda rambling ideas off in case anyone wants to go thru with them.

If ignorance if bliss, you'd think more people would be happy when you tell them they're an idiot!

That is a cool idea.
I'll keep it in mind for a possible "round two".
In the meantime, you ought to check out Kif White's
most excellent artwork of the gang as characters from Final Fantasy here.
That's kinda along the same lines.

Meanwhile, whatch this thread - Amy's coming soon....

Hey there, Javier from TFP just named you his favorite original fan artist, so I came here to see why that was... and this is some GOOD stuff you've got here! Mind if I post it at Futurama Madhouse / TLZ? I'll upload your pictures to our server, of course, and if you have a webpage or comments, it'll appear at the top of your gallery...

Thanks Leandro!
I have no real home of my own on the web (that is publicly accessable, anyways)
But you are welcome to post the stuff at your site.
Maybe you can link to this thread as my "home".
Just credit me as Cap'n Skusting of PEEL

Just for the record:
I don't mind if my work gets shown on other websites.
Just as long as you credit me as I've indicated, and you
give me a heads up here first.
And it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to provide a link here to your gallery once you put them in.
Also, don't link directly to my pix - upload them to your own server.

And I haven't forgotten about Amy. Her pic is in the works and will be the next one posted.
I'm tempted to give a sneak preview, but I like suprises.

Soon as it's done, soon as it's done.
And the colors shown in the teaser
may or may not end up in the final piece.

Probably Second Grade Math class or there abouts.
I'll be 47 in a week and a half. You do the math.
I've been making a pretty decent living as a graphic artist since around 1978.
The Futurama Pyrate art basically started as a need for a suitable avvy, the next thing you know....

I may have stated my age, but I claim nothing.
My birthday is on the 21st.
I share it with Phil Donahue, Jane Fonda, Barry Gordon, Samuel L. Jackson, Ray Romano, Joseph Stalin, Keifer Sutherland, Paul Winchell, and last but not least...Frank Zappa.
I haven't done a racing water color in a couple years, but I do have a few that would be the next ones in line, if I ever get off my lazy butt to do them. They're extremely time consuming and tedious, but the results are worth it.
