Tallywhacker's got the right idea. And Teen Titans is not an anime rip-off. It's a show with heavy anime influences. And if you want to complain about something, complain about the possibility of this: Apparently it was just announced at the Tokyo International Anime Fair. I'd rather have Teen Titans pics in this thread than that.

Yes, that's the Powerpuff Girls. And no, to my knowledge, it's not an April Fool's joke. Unfortunately, the site the news is on is japanese, so if someone could translate: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/docs/20050401/taf.htm the bit about it is near the bottom of the page. someone else said this was the translation: "Toei, Aniplex and Cartoon Network has announced the Powerpuff Girls Z at Tokyo International Anime Fair 2005 on April 1. Producers are Sam Register, Seki Hiromi (Digimon) and Katsumata Hideo (Fullmetal Alchemist). Other web site says that the character design is done by Shimogasa Miho (Cutey Honey F) and directed by Kakudou Hiroyuki (Digimon)." It was apparently just announced today, so if it's true, then it's gonna be all animation news websites in a few days.

OK, now I'm interested, How the HELL are they going to market this here in the US? Maybe a formal appology from Craig McCrakin and Cartoon network: "Dear viewers, when we started out presenting the whoop-ass girls (later re-named the powerpuff girls) Our intention was a tounge-in-cheek parody of japanese animation. We had no idea they would take us seriously. We appologize for the inconvinece, and please enjoy Powerpuff Z." Coming soon: Samura Jack the tearful wandering chronicles Teen Titans: "Dai hen!" and Animatrix: Retranslated. We're through the looking-glass here, people. Edit: They could soften the blow by running it back to back with " Magic Knight Rayearth."

About the Powerpuff Girls Z thing:
The article says that "Powerpuff Girls Z" is based on the Powerpuff Girls, and it is a show geared toward the Japanese. The caption under the two pictures just says that these are the "Powerpuff Girls Z," and they are wondering what the story will be for the show.

TT is mainly animated in Korea, where the anime movie "Wonderful Days" - otherwise known as "Sky Blue" in the US - was made. In other words, who freakin' cares? Here's some more TT pics: linked for nudity - yeah, you read that right, nudity: StarfireBlackfireyes, those are manipulated Eva pics, but still...damn. A giant nipple ate your family and had sex with the girl you wanted while you were commenting on a topic you didn't like Wooter.
I'd condole you, but I hate you.

Raven: I was just trying to help. Anyway, I'm currently involved with the TV show, The Prince of Tennis. Much to my dismay, the finale aired last week, and I didn't even know it was the last one 'till it was all over!*Sad* So here's some pics in remembrance of a great show! Every once in a while, the characters turn into little guys with big heads, and they have an episode that has nothing to do with the storyline. This is Eichizen Ryoma (The Prince of Tennis) when he turns into a big headed freak. A handful of the main characters. Screen shot from one of the PS2 video games. Never played it, but the GBA version rocks! And we finish with some cosplay. (By the way, Sailor Moon doesn't appear in The Prince of Tennis)

Anyway, it's nice to see someone posting pics from an anime series about something as mundane as tennis. That's something to show to the ignorant masses who think that anime is all about magical schoolgirls/big stompy robots/pocket monsters/porn. But thats big in Anime because thats what the people want. Anime isn't japanese Animation. Anime is the Animation Japan exports to the west.

I dont think so. Anime as your average westerner knows it is only a small part of Anime as japan knows it.
I remember the good old days, when Manga was what everyone was into.
