As long as each episode of Futurama contains a semblance of plot, it will not become Family Guy. That's the litmus test, by my standards. Be as crude and random as you want, but as long as there's an actual story, you should be fine.

Others include Leela's "Nice ass, ass". But the foghorn-nosed one speaks the truth: new FG = a plot just as an excuse for the asides.

How is the studio's title supposed to be read?
'1 to the power 2, 2 to power of 1, 3 to the power of 3'?
Or 1, 2, 9? Or perhaps Studio 18 (as that would be the result of the equation)?

Yeah, I don't quite know what to make of that still. Maybe, uh, it has something to do with regaining memories? Maybe it's Bender (perhaps falsely) reminiscing?
Either that or it's just a funny drawing CC's giving us to screw with our heads.

I've got nothin', speculation-wise anyway. I'll just settle for being amused by the still for now.
With those bell-bottoms, Bender's legs look so wiggly!

I am going to take a spin at this one. And judge it by the looks of the bystanders. They all seem disgusted. Now, of course, I am not saying this is always true, but in most cases, I'd think, even a false reminiscing would have some overly positive reactions from the people in the memories, unless it wasn't about that. So I am going to say that Bender somehow believes he is a disco star, and decides to go out boogieing, much to the displeasure of the other people at the club.

That could also be the case. Maybe that's how act two turns out: while there's all this seriousness going on with Leela not being re-birthed, the rest of the crew goes out and tries to live it up with their new (possibly improved?) bodies. Though that would kind of go against my thinking that the whole fugitive thing needs to be addressed, because I'm pretty sure most fugitives don't hide out at Studio 54. It's what you do at Studio 54 that might make you a fugitive...

Well... I am beginning to tapping my front lip. My upper lip! Because this screen may seem... uhm... somewhat noticeable worthy compared to what we can assume from the previous episode.
Now I want to stress, Leela is noticeably missing! The rest of the crew is obviously there. So, I am thinking, could this episode be somewhat tied with the previous one? But I am not sure how that would make sense as Farnsworth and Fry is present.
Well, it is clear that they all got deluded -- I mean, more deluded, which could be a side effect of the birthing machine, but why would be Farnsworth and Fry be there? Well, I suppose my theory makes no sense!
So the question is obviously; why did they become crazies? Do they read about it in a magazine? Does everyone become deluded on Earth? There is a woman in the background, she doesn't seem deluded.
And they are obviously coming out of the ship for some reason, maybe it's another planet that looks like Earth, and they are making some sort of crazy scheme to scare its inhabitants by making this crazy predictions of its immediate ending in a complicated scheme to save Leela and Zapp Brannigan from capture after they were stranded on the Eden planet, which turns to be like a strange planet which actually had cities and stuff, but filled with crazies, which is why it is called Eden, because they all believe too much in this Judgement day thing.
Am I making any sense?

I'm guessing this is part of whatever the B story is while Leela and Zapp are gone. As for the woman in the back, it isn't the same color but she is wearing a similar looking robe. I'm going with the theory that the entire Earth, or a large part of it, is equally crazy. That has a tendency to happen on Futurama.

It's possible, but I'm thinking more they just want to keep us guessing re: Leela's 'rebirth'. Still, there's over a month of preview pics to go before the premiere, and not showing the female lead might be a stretch. And they are obviously coming out of the ship for some reason, maybe it's another planet that looks like Earth, and they are making some sort of crazy scheme [...]
That could work. You can't see all of Bender's or Fry's signs, but they look like 'Bender is Great!' and 'The End is Nice!' Well, at least they wrote their own signs. Edit: Wait, Fry's could still say 'The End is Nigh!'...

Dang, I don't know what to make of today's still, either. I don't like the "Beast with a Billion Backs" vibe I get from it, but the whole Zapp/Leela aspect still intrigues me, so I'm reserving judgment for the time being.

But Hermes' sign says Judgment Day is at hand! Really, though, I don't know what to make of the image either. At least we know what episode it's from, but they're certainly doing a good job of confusing us so far...what a brilliant strategy...

Crazy Thought TM: Maybe this religious aspect, the whole taking to the streets thing, could actually be the crew's way of rescuing Leela and Zapp. To borrow Svip's terminology: maybe they're just pretending to be crazies; maybe they need to convince Earth that the end really is near for some (to me at present, unfathomable) reason.
Maybe I just don't make a lick of sense.

I'm not sure why I'm wasting my time with this. If the movies have taught me anything it's that the only person capable of making scary good predictions is Archonix.

Looks like the underside of the Planet Express Ship to me - i.e. they've just been unloaded as it were and are setting out to spread their message, whatever that may be... I'll go along with the idea of it being some form of abstract rescue/diversion strategy Though Leela may only be missing because she's on piloting duty at this juncture? Mind boggles. Anyway, back to my essay/panic attack!
