Yeah, sorry about that, guys.  ^^;

I usually don't stop posting on my favorite sites.  But unfortunately, my attention was called away, due to my personal life and some other stuff.

Anyway, I'm back now.  And I don't plan on leaving any time soon.  ;)

This is an exciting time for Futurama!  And I wouldn't miss this for the world!   :D

You know what I like best about this news?

Besides the awesomeness of Brand New Futurama Episodes, this news is undeniable proof that fans of any TV series have incredible power (to make big things happen).

Never understimate the power of fans!!  :D

Bender:  "WE'RE BACK, BABY!!!!!!"

*cue opening scene and theme song*  :D

Bender's Big Score anyone?  I have a sudden urge to watch it now, and then rewatch the movie later after watching seasons 1 through 4.  XD

Hehe, this calls for a huge celebration! I wish we could all get together and have the first ever FuturamaCon!  :laff:

And just for fun, our convention should be held in New York City, and in the exact location where Planet Express would be (if it were the year 3000, of course).  XD

When the new episodes come, I'm still hoping ITWGY turns out to be a dream.  Or not a dream and all the events in that movie would all be forgotten.  Hope they go on a mission for the space goverment as I've mentioned before.   Like the idea for the FuturamaCon, though!

Care to enlighten us why?  I know I don't like all the films, but acting like they never existed is pretty meek.  I am capable of acting like Star Control 3 never existed, because that wasn't made by Toys for Bob like the original Star Control games.  Even many fans regard SC3 as non-canon.

I can also easily claim to myself that the comics are non-canon, because they are not written and made by the same people as the animated version.  But I cannot suddenly accept that part of this, all of which I consider canon or "must be canon despite my disapproval", cannot be true or just "forgotten".

That's weak, that's lame, and it sure as hell is going to disappoint a lot of people; including myself.  And I am not a shipper, I don't care much for the whole romance stuff and whatnot.

Word, Svip. Ignoring the ending of the last possible-finale ("The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings") was pretty bad of the writers, but at least that episode was ambiguous and inconsequential (plot-wise) enough for them to get away with it. Completely ignoring the end of ItWGY--what with the entire PE crew being fugitives and all--is just lazy writing. And a great way to sour people on the new episodes right from the start.

As for the shippy aspect...I don't want them to reset it, but I'm certainly not ruling the possibility out.

I'm pretty hopeful they won't do a reset, they could just about get away with it after TDHAIP as it was a 'leave it to the viewers imagination' type of an ending but this certainly wasn't the case with ITWGY.

I actually can't see why they would want to reset it either. Would they really want to go over old ground again? I'd hope not, we've seen it all before and whilst it provided the series with some great moments you can't keep things the same forever.

They've gone past the point of no return now, or at least what should be. Besides, why not keep them together? The writers could really have some fun with it.

This is the biggest reason I can think of for the writers not to reset it. They must be tired of writing unrequited love stories by know. I'm sure that they are interested in writing stories with F/L together.

One of the many things the movies proved is that the writers are willing to take Futurama to any place imaginable. What better way to test their writing skills than to take one of their long-running stories to the next level?

A new interview with Katey Sagal and Billy West.

They mostly talk about their reactions to the renewal of the series. No spoilers, but it's still an interesting read.

I found some info on the upcoming futurama comicon panel:

Quote
[Saturday, July 25th] 1-1:45 P.M. Futurama: Life or Death?!  BE A PART OF SCI-FI HISTORY!  Join Executive Producers Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, and stars Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio and Maurice LaMarche for high-stakes thrills as a top-ranking Fox executive decides live, on stage, whether Futurama will make yet another triumphant return, or whether it is gone forever!  The very fate of Futurama hangs in the balance!  Paramedics will be standing by in case the intense excitement causes any panelists to collapse.  Raucous celebration or abject despair to follow the news. JustNibblin lives near there and might have wanted to go again - he was there in '07 - but I guess not if it's already sold out...

sO, you would've made a bitchin' Ambassador to PEEL, aw.

As for that quote about the panel, it would have been interestingly hilarious if that really was what was going to happen; that is, if they would've really done it that way.

Those things sell out almost a year ahead of time.  I managed to snag one of the last rooms at the Hyatt Regency last September for this year's DragonCon.  $157 a night for a single king bed, 5 day stay minimum.  I'm pretty sure ComicCon is the same way.

(Note:  I'm having to give up my room as Kelly's health has deteriorated to the point that I can't break free to fly to Atlanta for a week and she doesn't want me to put her in a nursing home for that week.)

Wow!  That sounds like fun!  :)

Aww, too bad it's all sold out.  XD  But it's not like I would've had the money to go anyway, given that Comic Con International takes place all the way in CA, lol.

Also, I thought it was really weird how none of the cast members, nor people who work on the show were present at NY Comic Con for the premiere of ITWGY.    I guess they must live near CA or something....  (by the way, is Comic Con International bigger than NYCC?)

And this makes me wish Billy West would come to an east-coast convention.  I really wanna meet him!

Anyway, someone needs to go to that panel at Comic Con International, record it, and put it up on YouTube.  Because I really wanna see this!!  :D

You can usually find a video of every major to mid-major panel at Comic-Con, which includes Futurama. Video from 2007 was up quite fast.

Also, yes, you have to have gotten tickets in advance. I remember in 2007 one PEELer was the next person in line when they cut off questions. If anybody goes, make sure to mention PEEL! I'm quite interested in seeing if we're well known to the cast and crew; I'd bet crew like DXC, Claudia Katz, Rich Moore, and Eric Kaplan would know of us, but doubt cast, which would be funny to see those guys joking about us while the cast had no idea what they were talking about.

Also, FryFangirlLisa, Comic-Con International is the largest convention of its kind in the world. The only convention larger is some anime trading convention in Japan, but it's nothing like the booth-and-panel kind of a convention.

Wow!  That's amazing!

And here I thought New York Comic Con was big.  Because there was a heck of a lot of people there, at this year's NYCC.  LOL.  :laff:  I can't even imagine what a BIGGER convention would be like!  The size of the crowd at Comic Con International must be insane!  XDD
