Nah, I'd say it's like this...

Homer = Bender
Lisa = Leela
Bart = Fry

That's how it was in the Crossover Comics.

I just posted all the relevant info on the subject on the Futurama Facebook group.  So if we suddenly get a new batch of illiterate college-age n00bs posting in this thread...my bad.

Just kidding. Maybe they'll have all the characters in it. Sort of like the first new Family Guy. (Ok we had to wait for the Chicken fight, but it was worth it)

Is that so? *joins IMDB and requests that the Futurama the Movie Plot Summary be deleted*  :rolleyes:

If a Futurama movie with a plot as bad as that came out, I wouldn't buy it.

Hah, nice one, Smitty. Guess that ran a sword through IMDb's vaunted infallibility, eh? I owe you a POTM nomination.

I heard somewhere that they were gonna make a Futurama/Simpsons Crossover Movie. Maybe this is what the movie will be.

If they made a Simpsons/Futurama Crossover movie I'd hunt them down and shoot them myself.

Because a crossover would be unimaginative, devalue the movie as a Futurama movie and, let's face it, plain out suck. Only videogame-to-movie-conversions have a worse trackrecord than crossovers.

You know, I wouldn't rat on you. I might actually be the one handing you the axe, or gun or whatever weapon you choose.

Like Teral said, crossovers are unimaginative and they suck. I didn't really like the comic crossovers, they weren't horrible but they weren't good. I would love to see something that goes back to The Why of Fry with the Brain Spawn. That's something we can all enjoy. And by all I mean me.

No more Brain Spawn... dear god I thought they were exiled. Let's keep it that way. There needs to be a new villan, maybe one that created the brain spawn or something. I dunno like a more powerful force behind everything?

Well, I've absolutely nothing against the Brain Spawn, but I don't think they'll be the main antagonists of the movie, because they ARE trapped in that alternate universe place, right? (Rereads sentence: Gawd, I just sounded like the true sci-fi geek I am...) Anytosh, I doubt it'd be Mom, 'cause she was the main villain of the video game, and I don't think they'd re-use her for the movie, but I've no evidence to deny it. The movie's plot will probably center more on the whole prophecy thingie concerning Fry. And will we FINALLY understand what Nibbler meant by "the other"? Man, I hope so. >_>

It's not very likely they'd even make a crossover at all; Matt Groening never really liked the idea. Only OKed it on the comics since he could live with that.
Sounds like a  good theory T-Veronica. That'd be reasonable, and knowing the show's originality, it won't be some crappy anchient egyptian-like crap with no originality whatsoever like the embarassingly degrading Yu-Gi-Oh! series, which in my opinion's basically a soap opera for kids....  :puke:  They just need to cancel the show before they go bakrupt from lousy artists and poor ratings

Yup. It'd be nice if the new Simpsons season (besides the ep. with Bart halucinating from too much cable TV and he sees Bender and all those with posters for it and the shirt) had at the least  Zoidy walking in the crowd somewhere..

The plot summary on there was made up and submitted by the user Smitty on PEEL to prove that anything can get published on IMDb.

Let me explain to you guys how IMDB works so you can get a better idea of what's real and what's not.

Things like plot summeries and movie reviews are subjective.  Anyone can submit those, because they are pretty much based on your own personal point of view and opinion.  It's like a book report for school.  30 different students will have 30 different plot summeries of the same book.  Same for movies.  That is why, if someone posts a plot summery or review on IMDB, that person's screen name will appear below their posting.  That indicates that this is this particular person's idea of the story line.

Take a look at the IMDB plot summeries for Titanic or Superman or any other popular movie.  you'll see that there are multiple plot summaries.  And each one includes the name of the person who submitted it. (IMDB is basically saying, this didn't come from us, it's from so and so.)

Credits are something entirely different.  Credits aren't subjective.  An actor either is or isn't in a particular movie.  A movie either is or isn't being made.

That's why you don't see "submitted by" next to an actor's credits or a film on IMBD. Because that information can and will be verified by IMDB staff and confidently posted on the website to be searched by casting directors, directors, producers, and other industry profesionals who use IMDB every day to search for an actor's credits.

That's why it takes about 4 weeks for a credit to be posted on IMBD.  Because it has to be verified first.

So Smitty, if you really want to impress us, how about you submit Waterworld 2 as being "announced" and it's going to star Kevin Costner, Beyonce Knowles, and Lindsay Lohan.

If you can get that posted on IMDB you can be my hero too.

(You will also be the hero of milions of struggling actors who can now use IMDB to beef up their resumes with fake credits.)

lulu, your inside knowledge of the inner workings of Hollywood and websites such as IMDb, though passionate and heartfelt, doesn't mean much to the people on this board. What is important to the posters (and lurkers) of peel is whether or not a Futurama movie is officially, without question, greenlit and moving into actual production.
And the answer to that is no. Despite what IMDb says.
But, that doesn't mean it won't happen. Chances are good that it will.

In the mean time, (and this is for everyone, not just lulu) I'd wouldn't take anything you read about it on the internet too seriously -- unless it comes from a Variety or Hollywood Reporter article quoting Matt, DXC, or FOX.

Or from yours truly!

Wanna get a drink sometime? (That isn't for everyone, just lulu.)

lulu: that's what I assumed. I didn't think Smitty actually proved anything...

Well, it's a battle between the pessimests and the optimists here, so there's no convincing eachother 'til it's official. I believe it 99%, so I guess I'm an optimist. The thing is, the pessimests are still gonna go on killing sprees if it doesn't happen.

Better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all been happy that they're gonna make a Futurama movie and then get sad that it's cancelled, then never to have been happy at all.

It's not a battle between ANYBODY.

EVERYBODY just wants to know if it's official or not. In the end, no one really gives a shit who was right in the first place as long as we get our movie.

Nope. not on on Sundays...maybe they will put it on, seeing as how Sunday seems the most boring day of the week, and by then, though I own a copy of Volume 3, still crave the few Futurama episodes I've yet to see.

IMDB credits Harry Shearer as being in Spaceballs...  :nono: I have seen this movie enough times to know he is not in it, and I also got confirmation from the man himself through email that he is not in this movie.
IMDB is definitely not perfect.

Let's not lose the perspective here. I mean it's not like he claimed Iraq had weapons of mass destrcution.

And deceitful? He openly admitted it and explained everything, I can't see how people can claimed they were deceived when it's public knowledge the plot is a fake.

Heh, probably posted here before, but I just went to best buy and picked up one of their free magazines that list all of the new things out on DVD. I was thumbing though it and found nearly two whole pages dedicated to Futurama. In it they had the IGN interview with Billy West and they mention the possibility of the movie. I am happy for the next 20 minutes.

Mmmm, I think you should check with the Space Pope.

Seriously, it might be better to ask how long from the start of production. I think the concept has been tossed around for years.
