It's so awesome to hear good news from Billy West!! *squeals in delight* I certainly hope he confirms it 100% on his forum soon. But I'm sure he's really busy, so I'm OK with him just updating when he can get around to it. ^_^ (It's hard to be demanding of your idols, isn't it?)

IMDB now has more information!

Information we already knew/assumed, but information none the less.

*insert fangirly squeal*
Judging by how excited I am right now, they'll probably be a ton of those threads comin' our way once this news gets out further, anyway. Which won't bother me in slightest, actually. I think you could hit me in the head with a cinder block right now and I wouldn't care. But...don't, k? ^_^

Do you have any idea how many rumors, half-truths and "My mother's-cousin's-half-brother's-former roommate's-uncle heard this while laying stoned in the gutter in front of a Hollywood cinema" threads we've had over the years? All which turned out to be as meat-less as a chickenbone in Zoidberg's office. To paraphrase our favorite Ubermod: "Once you hit your head against the wall often enough you tend to tire of doing so."

And in case you're wondering; no, IMDB is not official confirmation anymore than  an entry on Wikipedia. IMDB is a website which is just as susceptible to Internet rumors as you average Tom, Dick and Harry.

Well than I'm boarding that train without you. Regardless of whether it's official yet, it will be soon. There's evidence up the wazoo, and I'm not going to ignore it. The only reason anyone still doubts it is because it's too good to be true for Futurama Uber-fans. If it were any other show, we'd believe it and not care to doubt it for an instant. This is the best thing that's happened to Futurama in 2 years, and so I'm happy about this. Besides, is it really such a shock, they release shitty direct-to-DVD movies all the time, why not Futurama. Example: Lilo & Stitch 2 is coming out, who the hell gives a crap about Lilo & Stitch? Finally Fox realised Futurama is not a bad show. Even though they're not bringing it back, its the next best thing. Now you have 2 choices. Continue being skeptical and needing it to be official, or be happy about the fact until it becomes official and become even happier. The movies not supposed to be complete 'til 2007, there may be no official word for a while. I choose Hap-Hap-Happy-land over Long-wait-in-fear-of-crushed-hopes-land.

Yeah, I agree. Most movies that they release after the original that was in theaters really wang. I swear, if one movie does happen to make it to store shelves, even if I'm 55 or older, I'm buyin' it (If I remember xD) and that's a looonng time away for me. If it was any other movie with almost a copy of the script and not Futurama (if the story line isn't the best) I'd hate it. Say for instance FG.

There are plenty of movies that are talked about or worked on, but ultimately never materialize, including films based on tv series (wasn't there a "Malcolm in the Middle" movie being discussed at one point?)  Believe me, I think there's a good chance of this movie happening, and I'm super excited about it, but it's good to have some level of skepticism just in case.

Hey I like Lilo & Stich too. It's one of my fav Disney cartoon. (After The Lion King, Aladin and Mulan) Might pick up Lilo & Stich 2 when it will come out.

Can't wait for the next reply of Billy West!!!

I'm hoping that there will be a movie. Cause I saw the IMDB page. But I'm not sure whether I believe it or not. I want to believe very very badly but I just can't. Seeing that really excited me though.

Okay, I've never watched Lilo & Stitch, but couldn't think of any other examples.     I realise that this isn't going too well towards my point, but... I'm sure you can think of examples.

I can understand your point.  When they're actually making a sequel to "Fox and the Hound", it becomes more obvious that just about anything can be a direct to dvd movie now.

But anyway, I was just reading a random post on IMDB from about ten days ago saying that in this month's issue of "Total Film" (a magazine) John Dimaggio says something about the movie being more or less confirmed.  Anyone able to confirm or deny this?

i hope so, but id easily trade a movie for it going back on the air, if enough people buy the DVD's. but it says the things been greenlit, but i dont even know if its true.

The difference is that with *many* of these Disney movies they can just have one writer throw together a "plot", then pump out the movie... To produce Futurama takes a lot more writers, actors, artists, etc...

I'm pretty sure that all of these people would take far less pay than normal to do something they love. Take "I Heart Huckabees", for example. Actors like Dustin Hoffman and Mark Wahlberg worked for practically nothing, because they loved the project. Donnie Darko was the same way. I think the writers and animators and actors on Futurama would be willing to work for scale (Hollywood terms for minimum wage)

Just out of curiousity can you show us where DXC talked about it?  I haven't seen any quotes or anything from him on this whole thing.  (I could've missed it somewhere.)

He has a correspondance with Marc (our moderator, and owner of Got Futurama) and relayed that info through him.  I don't think he's been directly quoted anywhere, but Marc is trustworthy.

But has anyone seen that magazine?  Maybe it doesn't matter, but I'd like to see what Dimaggio said.

Do you relalize the one great thing about the movie. NO CENSORS......telling them to change this and that. Their always complaining about them in the dvd commentaries

yeah robertojamison has a good point.  Also, they'll have alot more freedom with deleting scenes since they wont have a set-in-stone limit of 22 minutes for an episode.

IMDB.com now has a plot summary for the movie:

On a delivery to a planet on the other side of the universe, the Planet Express team stumble across the buried head-in-a-jar of HG Wells. Wells tells of how his literary characters have come to life and are plotting something evil. The crew manage to round up most of the characters on the planet but Wells tells them that the Invisible Man is missing. Worse still, so is the ship...

I have no idea where this comes from or who daveg87, the person that submitted it is.

i doubt they'd go for the 'literary characters come to life plot' after having used it in the simpsons crossover comic.

I'm with Dan, in hoping it's about the brain spawn. The summary that this Daveg87 is talking about sounds kinda weak. How can any of us trust him?

I agree. We can not trust answers we do not like.

Anyway, there is a lot more potential to "Old foe returns bringing destruction" then to "Odd guy appears".

No one get excited. I submitted that to them last week to prove here that anyone can submit any old crap to IMDB and they'll publish it without bothering to verify it.

If a Futurama movie with a plot as bad as that came out, I wouldn't buy it.

I think Brain Spawn is a given, but I'm fairly sure the plot will be so clever that no one here could have thought of it.  As it should be.

Hahahahaha   :laff: I just pissed myself...

Anyway, if the brain spawn aren't invovled, I think it may include the Robot Devil, Santa, or Richard Nixon.

I heard somewhere that they were gonna make a Futurama/Simpsons Crossover Movie. Maybe this is what the movie will be. Anyway, it sounds like an unreliable resource, so don't fret if you hate that stupid family of yellow freaks...
