TLZ ( Futurama Madhouse) I really don't see CGEF as competition. What exactly are we competing at? Fan Content: TLZ has truckloads, updated often. CGEF rarely uploads new stuff, and the bulk of their "content" sections is years old. Episode Information: CGEF has capsules with everything you can possibly find in an episode. TLZ only has a single-line summary for each ep. Updates: TLZ updates every day; in the rare event a day goes by without an update, it's balanced because of the days when several updates go up at once. The updates always include a little bit of content for the visitor to look at, no matter what it is. CGEF updates maybe once or twice a week (now; there were weeks where it didn't update at all) and the updates are either: rumours are are debunked later; merchandise news (the BUY STUFF NOW! kind of update TLZ won't do because we hate ads) or web news (like the Artxilla thing, those news are covered by TLZ as well). Content updates are... extremely rare (nonexistant for the past couple of months). Merchandise News: CGEF has tons of Futurama ads everywhere, and updates with every new bit of merchandise telling people to BUY IT NOW! [Already stated that I hate those things; they're just ads, darnit!] TLZ has a single Merchandise page that rarely updates and is in danger of being deleted with every update. And no ads in the site, thankyouverymuch. "Mood": TLZ is a mess. We're nuts. We'll update with a pic of a little worm giving the finger to Bush, say that Internet Explorer sucks, post a picture of the webmaster as a Lego, and run polls on the World Cup and European Football. We have our opinions and we darn sure express them, and if we feel like turning the side inside-out and upside-down, heck we'll do it and damned what anyone thinks. We update the site for FUN, and we have FUN. CGEF is... a much more "serious" site, if you will. Almost pretending it's not a fansite. There are some lines like "another crapworthy newstopic brought by your favourite slimmy", but otherwise the updates are just updates: "we just got reported this thing and we'll share it with you. Move along, now". It doesn't look like a fun website. I could go on and on about how TLZ and CGEF are different. When a person visits TLZ, is looking for something completely different to what it would find on CGEF. And TLZ simply has another mood. I find CGEF boring. Later, Leandro.

Burns: "Goodness! I didn't realize this casual thread was going to turn into a charged political debate." Many theories abound I see, about the differences between the two sites. And how they both are going the way of the Simpsons, ie. not up to their former self. All nice theories, but still theories, grounded on different agendas. IMO you all overlook the real reason: the show has ended! All the seasons are out on DVDs. The computer game was released months ago. AS have shown all episodes several times over. All we have left are calendars and comics. Naturally CGEF will have less news to report. Ofcourse fanfics/fanart is going to diminish slightly in amount (although we still have quite a good stream of contributions to TLZ ). It's a natural evolution from the sad state of the show. Anyway, nipping this in the hbud before I start to rant to incoherent. CGEF and TLZ are two different sites and actually compliment eachother rather nicely. Both are good sites, and both are pillars of (what's left of) the Futurama community. That's my opinion, and so have it always been, I see nothing here that could make me change it. And CGEF and TLZ are fully capable to live in peaceful coexistence, afterall Slimmy and I have been to 3 AGI's by now without being at eachothers throat. I don't understand this need to rank apples and oranges. It's like the Fry vs Zoidberg debate all over. And really we allready have a favorite website poll. Finally, how did TLZ "sell out"? Do you see any ads, banners, endorsements, etc. on our site? Did we suddenly start praising FOX as the virtue of good, a bastion of good taste and intelligence? Can you find a single piece of content (apart from the Leela bio, which will return in a few days, once I'm done writing it ) missing from the site compared to a few months back? How did we "sell out"? Oh yeah, I abstain from voting (for obvious reasons) .
