I got an email from Amazon UK today telling me that Futurama Adventures - originally supposed to be released in September - has been cancelled. The email made it clear that it's the actual book that has been cancelled rather than just my order so I assume everyone else has got the same email.

Does anyone know anymore about it? Has the release date just been pushed back or has it been cancelled altogether?

Here is the lowdown on the Futurama Adventures cancellations.  UK orders have been cancelled because this TPB will not be published by Titan like it was scheduled to be and like all the other Simpsons and Futurama stuff.  It will be published instead by HarperCollins UK.
It should be resolicited in the near future and is scheduled to be released at the same time as previously scheduled. I don't deal too much with Amazon on pre-order stuff so I don't know how they handle resolicitations like this. If you don't hear anything from them by late July or August I would suggest doing a search on the site and pre-ordering it when it becomes available from HarperCollins.

Also, can the title of this thread be changed so that it can be the defacto Futurama Adventures thread rather than a cancellation thread?

*Sew faster*

*Faster, I say!*

*Its not working!*

Somehow, I think that won't be very effective.

Any idea why this has happened Bendo? Have Bongo changed their publishing deal?

Maybe HarperCollins, which publishes the us bongo comics, threatened to pull their support unless the uk versions were also pulbished by HC. Just a guess.

Nasty Pasty, I doubt this will change US orders as they are already published through Harper Collins here. This, as far as I know, only affects the UK.
Kazza, don't know why the late change on this. Could be a multitude of reasons. HC already does the US versions so maybe they made them an offer they couldn't refuse, maybe Titan had a glitch, HC may have bigger distribution chains available to them (bigger distribution in the long run is better for the health of Futurama Comics), couldn't make a deadline. I don't know what the big deal is anyways, it will come out and it will come out on its scheduled time.

If that's not bad enough, my local comic book store cancelled all future orders of Futurama comics.  Now they're cancelling Futurama Adventures?  I agree that FOX is behind all this.  It's like they're trying to erase all traces of Futurama.  What's it going to be instead?  Malcolm in the Middle comic books?  Grounded for Life comic books? American Idol comic books?  Don't mind me, I was in a really good mood this morning but after reading about this, I'm ticked off!

Thanx for clearing things up Bendo, I'm just so relieved it's not cancelled altogether. I'm assuming Titan will continue to Publish Futurama-O-Rama in the UK though? As for Futurama Adventures, I think I'm gonna order it from the US just to be safe  :)

I agree. Usually the UK always gets the stuff first, but now HarperCollins breaks the pattern!

The Deal with Bongo and HC/Titan in the UK is wierd. Titan usually publish every Simpsons Comics collection and Bart Simpsons comics collection. However on 4 occasions before HC have published Simpsons collections - 3 were the Halloween comic collections and the other was "Simpsons Comics Royal" -reprinting #50. HC also reprint the Miscellanious Simpsons books in the UK, such as Complete Guide. So I wonder what the deal is with this?
