How come they haven't put out a Futurama episode guide book like the Simpsons Complete Guide and Forever and Beyond Forever?

Because it takes a lot of time, money and resources to make one of those.

Awaits the inevitable shameless plug...

Or thread closing, whichever comes first...

Plug added: http://www.leelazone.com.ar/guide/index.shtml  It's not shameless since I didn't make it, Kenneth White (aka Kif White) did.

shadowstar can do his own plug.  :p

Also because The Simpsons has over 300 episodes.

Futurama has, tragically, not achived this number. So it would be a much thinner book and not really as necessary. Especially with guides already online.

Still it would be cool.

Have you seen how thin "Simpsons Forever" (the second complete guide book)is? Also, "Beyond Forever" (the third one)only has 2 seasons in it, but it's thicker than "Forever." Anyway, if they put all 4 seasons in a book, make each ep' a double page, like they did for "Forever", then you'll have a book almost the same thickness of the first Simpsons one.

No offense, but I don't think a Futurama book would be as big a seller as a Simpsons book.  It's sad but true.  I doubt any book company would be willing to make an episode guide just for a niche audience.

And, as Teral said, we already have two online episode guides ala Simpsons forever.  Those are free...if you really want to pay for them, that's fine by me.

I actually have to disagree with Evan. I think an ep. book would be a big seller because it could have all of the eps. in it with profiles, pics and everything and every one who watched Futurama will probably buy one.

Not I. Totally unecessary purchase. I can appreaciate the show just fine on my own, thanks.

Totally unnecessary purchases are the best kind.  I'd buy an episode guide if one came out, but I don't think one will ever come out.

No offense taken. Of course I've seen many of the online ep guides but I really like the Simpsons books and I'd love a Futurama book too.

That said though, Bongo could always publish one if there was no other way to get one out.

A guide wouldn't be a bad idea but I'm not sure if it would be neccasary or something I'd want to buy.  Plenty of guides online already, and if it came out like the Simpsons guides (IE chock full of errors and missing lots of great info) I'd be particularly uninterested.

I was ecstatic when the first book came out....but they should have waited and brought out the next one with the next 4 seasons, not 2 or whatever it was....

Did that make any sense....? awww...

I would buy one if it came out.
But not because it would be a good book but because I will not see Otis and M Jackson own one while I don't !

Clool reason  ;)

I'm definitely buying one if it gets made. And I agree with DoTheBartMan, Bongo would no doubt publish it if no other company would. I mean they published the Futurama-O-Rama book, and the Futurama Adventures book comes out in a few months too. Obviously the first one must have sold pretty well, and not only that, but an episode guide would have a higher fanbase than a Comic Collection book...

Shadowstar: Did I beat Kenneth to the punch?
Teral: Too late, hot plate.
Shadowstar: Aw crap!
Well, here's my plug anyway. It's more visually interesting than Kenneth's, no dump on him, and it's got extras! EXTRAS! http://decapod10.cjb.net

Actually, HarperCollins publishes the Futurama comic collections. They also publish Simpsons books. Must have some kinda deal with Matt Groening and Bongo...

Actually, we're both wrong, it's Titan Books, or at least mine is anyway... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1840234342/qid=1084399110/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_11_1/202-2644978-6066224

Titan publish the UK comic TPB's, HarperCollins publish them in the US. (Futurama anyway)

Bongo just make the comics and publish the single issues, though I'm not certain Bongo are actually the publishers...

Well I'm thinking if there is over 300 episodes of the Simpsons and only 72 episodes of Futurama it wouldn't be as hard. It would be very easy to make one. So dammit for those who are to lazy to make one freakin Futurama epi. book!

I'm introducing Paint as an art form to all generations! Next up, I'll work with finger paintings and then make THOSE look good! Ha ha!
