Matt Groening Acknowledges Petition

This may be old news, but I wanted to bring it up in case no one else has.

In the Los Angeles Times Calendar section on March 26 there was an article about Futurama and Matt Groening was quoted to have said (among other things), "Just a few days ago, fans of the program submitted a petition to save it that had 130,000 signatures. Even by TV standards that's pretty amazing."

He also went on to say, "I feel about Futurama the way Paul McCartney must feel about Wings. It's tough to compare anything to The Simpsons, but I'm incredibly proud of Futurama."

On an added note ... It's all speculative right now, but there are plans to try to get that very petition (in some shape or form), or at least mention it, on the Season 4 DVD set. That would be an amazing "thank you" to all us fans. We'll have to wait and see how that pans out.

Commentaries for season 4 have already been recorded but if they can go back and record an extra one for Roswell That Ends Well then I'm pretty sure they'll do another one for season 4.

By the way there is a thread about the petition floating around somewhere.

Wow already, I didn't know that, but that's awesome because it means they must be planning on actually releasing it, which means we will get to see all of the episodes! 

And also, that's so cool the petition will probably get a mention. That's awesome to the max!

Yup. A net-friend of mine read a post by David A Goodman (writer of Where No Fan...) on a Star Trek board and he said they had done a commentary for that episode so I assume they've done/in the middle of the others.

Is this the first sign that there will be a season 4 DVD. I was beginning to worry that Fox would stop making the DVD's if the show gets cancelled.

its a little silly to believe they would never release it on DVD, if they release 1 season on DVD it would be stupid (even for fox) to not release the rest
