Ideas Needed for Fry & Leela Crochet plushie

As most of you know, I've completed a Zoidberg and a Nibbler plushie with a Bender plushie on the way.  Now I've bought yarn for a Leela and a Fry plushie but need some ideas on how to create them. 

How would you folks like to see Fry and Leela made?  I know I want to sew up a jacket for Fry but would you want the shirt and pants for them to be part of the plushie? ie crocheted as part of the doll?  Or would you rather see the dolls themselves made and then sew up clothes for them? Or just have each doll flesh colored and then put fabric pants/shirt on separetely ommitting undergarments?

The only concern I have with doing it that way is how tight Leela's clothes are on her.  This may pose a bit of a problem.  First off, trying to find spandex (and not highly expensive spandex at that) and second, if it's tight on her, then you'll be able to see the crochet yarn stitches underneath and would look lumpy.

I never had to worry about this with Zoidy because he doesn't wear undergarments.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks again all!

I think it would be best if their basic clothes were just crocheted as part of the doll, as in Fry's white tshirt and blue pants.

Loved the first two, looking forward to seeing the rest.

Hm...I'm not buying a Fry or Leela, but this is just a suggestion.(hope I made this understandable, heh...)

Your idea for Leela's fine, but...how about making Fry's pants out of regular cloth clothing, since they aren't exactly fitted very tight onto his body...but for the doll body, have the yarn for it (excluding his arms) white, the same as his "undershirt". You wouldn't have to change color yarns all that much while making it, and it would look okay, providing the buyer didn't -intend- to take the clothes off. ^^;
