Voices, you are the best damn Cartoonist Artist I've met in years. That even put's you over the top over a few brilliant Anime Artists, who I still love and don't want bricks through my window.
Make some cute Amy pictures please!
And yes, Voices and Fem-Jesse uniting and doing erotic Futurama art, not sleazy stuff of course.

I'd been making the image grayscale, selecting the greys channel, and deleting it, which works better for my pencil-y stuff. It makes all the whites on the linework layer transparent, rather than white, but it can lead to a small loss of detail (usually reversible by copying and laying the lines over themselves). I found a better way (for sketchy things) using layer filters, and making two layers with the original linework on it, make the top line layer "overlay" and the bottom one "multiply", then coloring under them per usual. I've just been able to get some really exciting effects that way =^.^= (God I'm such a loser...)

There has to be a better way.
Well I'm not very experienced with newer versions of PSP, but I had 4.0 back in the day, and I can tell you that the "gray edge" is a result of shades of gray in the original scan you're working with. If the picture isn't scanned using only two tones (100% black and 100% white), you're going to have to increase the tolerance of the flood fill. (I use about 80%, but try 80-100) If you're going to try and scan pure black on white, use inking pens and erase the pencil underneath. Scanning larger to a higher resolution is always a good way to work, especially if you're not using layers. When the final image is reduced, the program goes through a rendering process known as "anti-aliasing," which blends colors and smooths out the lines.

Hmmmm, so I guess there isn't a better way. I think what I need is a light box, so I can "trace" the inked version and therefore not have all those *very faint* left over pencil lines that muck up high contrast scanning. Other then that, it occures to me that we are proably being rude, discussing PSP techniques in TV's thread. That's my fault, sorry TV.
