I don't know if animated gifs are passé at this point, but I still like making them.

Maybe this dates me, but I still think GIFs are cool, and valuable to use as what amounts to animated emoji. Nicely done! And it's wild that we're in an age where GIFs can be so HD.

Those are cool, Amish!

The first gif I downloaded was, like, 320x240 256-color. I think it was the cat walking GIF.

And smack me sideways, but I never knew the correct pronunciation until I searched just now. It has a soft "G".

The great thing about cartoons is that you can create nice looking loops and still keep the size (in megabytes, I mean) relatively small.

I hate it. Every time I say the word to someone now I always have to say "Gif, or Jif, or whatever" because no one can agree on how to pronounce it.

We're free to pronounce it anyway we like. And it's an interesting coincidence that upon first seeing the word, whether in an article or simply a filename, I pronounced it like the famous peanut butter brand, which was also the inspiration of the designer.

A Brief History of the GIF, From Early Internet Innovation to Ubiquitous Relic

Quote from: www.smithsonianmag.com

(For the record, Wilhite pronounces his creation with a soft G, using a play on the peanut butter ad as a demonstration: “Choosy developers choose GIF.” He reiterated the point when he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 Webby Awards.

I find watching this on a loop unspeakably satisfying for reasons it's probably best I not explore.

For real, though, nice work here, Amish—these are fun!
