The Finale of Finales :D (The Final Project)

Inspired by cyber_turnip, UnrealLegend and myself; this is a thread where everyone can help build the plot for the almighty episode theatrical movie. It must be epic! Bender must be killed off in the end, and Fry will have a kid with Leela and return to the past for good. Here's some basic ideas (Build on it, redo it, start from scratch, just use the requirements!)

• The professor discovers that the universe is closing shut do to a lack of mass.
• He makes the crew go out to dangerous locations across the universe in order to find certain materials that can save the world!

Here are some ideas:

• Nibbler can help stop the universe's ultimate fate.
• Bender gets lost from the crew for a great portion of the episode, like 'Godfellas'.

We should have a bunch of names to choose from (We'll vote in the end...) My idea for a name includes singularity in it because of the closing universe thing... Just an idea...

There's nothing to say that Bender must be killed off; it was merely a suggestion.

I'm devising a plot in my head right now. Stay tuned. (Also, maybe this should be in the fanfic section?)

What if Bender lands on a completely high tech planet (Death-Star Looking, but with purple neon lines as a grid all over...) (Here's a rough draft of the planet:

and it holds all the answers of the universe. And then Bender found out how to stop the singularity, but he can't get to the professor in any way. Just a thought...

Scientific nitpick:  if the universe was closing in on itself, it would be from too much mass.  If there wasn't enough mass, the universe would expand faster and faster until it literally ripped apart.

I think it's cute that SGB is now deciding who is fit for PEEL but okay.

I don't like your requirements. Why are they requirements? I like the idea of Fry returning permanently to the past and bringing Leela with him. The idea of Bender getting lost again is good but kinda rehashy.

Hmm, a fanfic written by a team of people could be interesting given how it'd reflect the way the show is actually written. Has a Futurama fanfic ever been written by a team before?

I'm not usually a fan of fanfics, but this sounds like it could be fun, so fair enough, I'm in. I say we mimic the show's writing process as closely as possible.

It might make sense to start on a normal 22-minute episode instead of a feature just to figure out how the dynamic would work... you know. A feature's a pretty ambitious thing to dive into. If we write an episode together, we could move on to a movie afterwards.

And I agree with Solid Gold Bender's idea of assigning people roles from the other thread this was mentioned in. I'd say we need a 'showrunner' or two to oversee everything and basically be the king of the script with the final word on things, a screenwriter or two to actually write the script itself and 10-15 staff-writers to hash out the plot together and insert ideas/jokes when it comes to re-writing.
And we'll have to re-write the thing again and again to make it really good. It might even be worth having one person write it, then someone else re-writing it and so forth.
Anyway, I'm just throwing ideas out here, let me know what you think.

Woah, slow down SGB. I could theoretically make a comic out of it, but unless the story turns out really good I don't think it'd be worth the hassle.

My style is to use already-existing images (like on my DVD covers), so that makes it even more time consuming.

I don't consider this fan fiction. I consider it more of fans getting together and making a quality script worth reading. It's a team effort, not a one week low quality script written by some random fan...

I really like this idea.  What if Nibbler, after taking human form, starts to feel affections for Leela, and she starts petting him like usual only for it to create an awkward situation in which they are both 'sexually' charged?

I'm not sure whether or not you were joking winna (to be honest I hardly ever am) but I think that could work. I honestly thought that it would be a fairly terrible idea when I first saw it but the tension between Leela and Nibbler could bring a really interesting thread to the story. It could be an excuse to get the Professor's mind switcher out again, although Nibbler doing this seems like it could feel forced unless there was a really good reason.

I thought that maybe for a subplot Nibbler somehow gets put into a human form, and there's some ancient way to get his Nibblonian Body back. Maybe that could unlock the secret of something, something...

The idea of sexual tension between human Nibbler and Leela is sorta cool though...That could for sure make some funny scenes!

It seems a little obvious to me that they visit spheres because of a new invention the professor invented and the professor cat is there with devious plans because he and Dr. Banjo have teams together for nefarious reasons.
