You you, or how I interpret you? Is not what the artist sees a mere interpretation of reality, and further, what gets put down as physical representation but a human's effort to convey a hopeless rendition of what the mind can only distinguish in terms of temporary beauty, to the despair of those who can truly see what a fragile world we live in, with all its tiny people?

I'm trying to paint a woman's face, but it's difficult.
Tell me about it. If they're not moving about, they're claiming that the brush tickles or is too close to their eyes. I like the Long Wave Goodbye, btw.

I want that last one. I like the roughness of the tower's edges - makes it seem a more organic thing than just a building. I also like the out-of-focus look of the field of roses. If I saw that for sale in a shop window, I'd buy it and hang it at home. Definitely. The un-named one seems to me to be about a volcano god getting angry at a motorbike and licking it. Maybe to death. I like "Tranquil" as well. Possibly because it could be a sea hiding gigantic lobsters that ask questions, if you see what I mean.

I like the textures you manage to create and the use of colour is quite awesome and effective. I like Falls in particular ...

I really love your work, SpaceMaN. I've always loved abstract art, just because it's so fascinating, and I can't seem to do it well. Anything that I have a hard time doing I usually appreciate more. I really like the first one, "Lost Memory." Painting is awesome. I wish I had more time for it.

The other day one of my girlfriends' friends saw a painting of mine and wanted to buy it, but I told her I couldn't sell it and to just take it. Made me really happy inside though.
Not accepting monetary compensation for a painting? Pfft...you artistes. And I love that second, nameless painting. It looks like a carnival fun-house, when viewed on an acid trip. I picture that M-ish, mouth-like thing jumping out of the painting and devouring me whole. Really cool stuff, SpaceArtistMaN.

Thanks for all the comments, it's really making me want to paint more. tnuk, I could possibly arrange for that DT one to hang at your place, I was thinking of trying to paint another one like it. I also have one in the works of Susan Delgado, but I'm having problems with it.
As for not accepting compensation: I had a painting sitting on a shelf at my gf's for about a year, and she never hung it up, so when her friend saw it and said it was cool, she'd like to have it, I gave it to her. Then she was looking through my pile of in-progress canvases and saw another she liked, but it's not done yet. She offered to buy it, but I told her no, I'll save it for her, and let her know when it's done. Maybe I'll take her up on that offer when it is done. That would make me a selling artist, and one with art hanging in 2 people's houses that aren't related to me.
I've only posted maybe 20-30% of my finished works so far, let me know if you might like to see a few more.

I think you should definitely post and paint more. I'm not a massive fan of abstract art, but I really like Upside Down and the un-named picture. The long wave goodbye is interesting. It's like a transition between the abstracts and Tranquil. I should probably also point out that the current state of my living arrangements doesn't give me anywhere to actually put the DT painting. If my camera wasn't dead, I'd photograph the various drawings and lists covering my walls for proof. Once I've got all the stuff that's on my walls into my computer (and it's a slow process) then I'll be able to think about putting artwork up. If you've not sold it to anybody else by the time my walls are clear (realistically speaking, that'll be this time next year), I'll make you an offer for it. The stuff on my walls is partly stuff I need to have organised before Uni starts again at the end of the month, but mainly the backbone of Project Lair. It's a slow and laborious process to actually translate what I have in my head to a form that can be constructed in reality. I can tell right now that the lair is going to give me headaches, even without the complications that are sure to arise from the planned location - currently somewhere in the Romanian stretch of the Carpathian Mountains. You should totally paint Dracula's castle, speaking of the Carpathian Mountains. Jagged rocks, bold man-made lines, and eerie moonlight. It seems like it would suit your style quite well.

Finally got around to picking up my arts and getting better pictures of them. This post is a sort of test. Pleace (pronounced please) *
* The Long Wave Goodbye (an idea I had to branch away from just abstracts) * * Awesome. Much better. Let me know if you want to see any others.

I like the rose and wave on what I perceive to be a canted plain.

What materials did you use for the web material, or did you simply place the spiders in little harnesses affixed to your hands and wave them around?
