OK, I would like to start doing fan fiction, and it's my first time submitting to Futurama sites.  I need your opinion on this idea for my first story.

The title is "How to Launch a Rockette Without Really Trying."  That's not a typo in the title-- Rockette is Rockette Powers, who is Zapp Brannigan's extranged twin sister.  After spending 32 years at the Orphanarium and then with a Neptunian family, she's joined the DOOP army.  However, neither knows they're related, so guess what.  Zapp falls in love with his own twin sister.  It's not all good-- Rockette loves Kif, who loves Amy.  It doesn't stop at that-- after seeing Zapp try to hit on another woman, Leela gets jealous, and that steams Fry because it's the first time he and Leela are going steady.  So what we have is a complex love hexagon that can only be broken by letting Rockette know that the man who loves her is her twin brother.  But since she's got the Brannigan jerk gene, do Kif et al want her to know?  Will she figure it out before it's too late?

So... is the idea too controversial?  Does it sound like a good idea?  Has it already been taken?  I would appreciate a little feedback to make this a story everyone can enjoy, and I'll give you some updates when (or if, if no one likes the idea) I get to it.  Thanks!

Hmm... that all depends. Does Zapp know Rockette is his twin sister? If so, then it'd be too weird. And also, why is Leela jealous? Why does she care?

I agree.  I can't see Leela caring if Zapp is hitting on someone else.  In fact, I think she'd be pretty happy about it.

Second. And why does Rockette for one not have the same name as Zap and why is her name Rockette? Not a bad plot just some bad details.

Yeah it sounds cool (and not only because there has been a large drought of shipper fiction lately) but as they said, just fix some details and it'll probably turn out well.

Thanks for the feedback!

Spacedal-- In the story, Rockette is adopted by a Neptunian family, so obviously she has a different last name.  Her name is Rockette because it would be sort of a coincidence if the twins had similar names (sci-fi related words with double letters in them.)

Everyone who asked-- Here is the explanation as to why Leela is jealous.  You see, in Leela's case, sleazy men enjoy hitting on her.  Even though they are sleazeballs, at least they think she's attractive.  In Zapp's case, Leela is reminded over and over of how much he likes her.  Deep down, underneath all the disgust and contempt towards Zapp, Leela could be a bit pleased that at least one man finds her attractive, and that she's the #1 female in his world.  Before you all say "But Fry thinks the same way," Leela won't actually appreciate everything until it's gone.  When Zapp falls in love with another woman, Leela knows deep down that she's no longer the most attractive female in one man's world, and though she doesn't actually want to go through what she did in LLLiS, she does want to feel like she's important to more than one person.  That was a pretty long explanation, and I hope I didn't lose you.

Shadowstar-- If I told you whether or not Zapp knew, it would sort of ruin the plot.

I'll let you know how it's going and post parts of it as I progress.  Thanks for the feedback!

That's a very plausible explanation for Leela's reaction. You story sounds interesting, I hope to see it soon!

But still wouldn't Fry be the same way even after Zap finds his new woman? I mean you'd think Fry would see her that way. I'm still a little confuesd.

Sorry I confused you all... should I ditch the whole idea or simplify it more?

If you like the idea than just fix it. If you don't, CHESSE IT!
