Are there any Smallville fans on this board?  I figured with the season premiere last week, it would be a good time to start up a Smallville thread.
Also, I really need a message board to talk about Smallville.  No one in my town watches it, and the official one sucks.
And obviously if you're in this thread, we're gonna talk about Smallville, so if you missed an episode, prepare to be spoiled.  The latest ep was...
3-1 "Exile"
What did everyone think of it?
It looks like it was Helen who set up Lex, but she may be telling the truth to some extent.  Lex could have given her the parachute and then got knocked out.
And Jor-El gave Jonathon super powers?  Does he have all Supes powers?  Can he fly?  And why doesn't he just try to take the ring off of Clark?

I've seen a few eps. Not enough to talk about it much, but I like it.  :)

Guh, so melodramatic, not enough comedy and the special FX are kinda crappy.
But I'm not one to badmouth stuff, so I'd watch it if there was nuthin better on!

Also the girls are hot, especially when Krista Allen guest starred.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of Season 3, as I believe it is going to be way darker than the happy-go-lucky Seasons 1 and 2.

Well, this thread is off to a great start
Anyway, I wonder what Jonathon sacrificed in order to get powers.

I'm thinkin it's about Superman....

Also Faze, what the hell are you talkin about, the special FX are great....

Nah smallville is a pretty cool show, I watch it when I get a chance however I did miss the season premier :|  I can never seem to figure out what grade anyone is in though... At first they seemed like seniors (but 2 seasons later still in high school would be a bit odd).....

Wow, to be honest, I kinda of expected more Smallville fans to be on this board since I know there are a lot of Buffy fans, and Smallvile and Buffy get compared constantly.  At least, whenever I bring up Smallville around here.

I'm a Smallville fan, MrB, although it has been getting rather over-dramatic and preachy as of late. Still worthy of an hour of my non-busy life. Smallville, Enterprise, and The Simpsons are pretty much the only shows that I watch with any regularity on TV these days.

edit: Also, for the record, I'm not a Buffy fan.

So...this week Clark is hunted by someone who figures out his weakness and uses Kryptonite bullets!   Crikey!

Ugh, didn't they do that in one of the movies?  Or was it one of the Lois and Clark episodes?  Either way, I never liked the Kryptonite bullet concept. Although, it should lend itself to some cool special effects!   :D

Well, if you have to wait on tapes for every episode...somehow I doubt that.
Anyway, I watched it last night.  It was good and I liked the concept.  not sure where the new Lex angle is going though.  He thinks he's invincible now?  It will lead to him getting a bigger ego...

i have wanted to like smallville ever since it started. i still watch it every week, but i don't think it's that great. i mean, the two leads, tom welling and kristin kreuk, were always terrible actors, especially mr. welling,  so the clark-and-lana scenes strike me as extremely tedious. they're also just not written very well; very hokey.

on the other hand, the lex-and-lionel luthor stories have always been very intriguing;  micheal rosenbaum and john glover are very fine actors, as is the rest of the cast, excluding the leads.

the "freak of the week" concept wore out really quickly, but luckily they started to cut 'em  down a bit.
ex:
"he was stung by insects during the meteor shower, so now he has insect powers", or "she was having sex during the meteor shower, so now she has sex powers", and dozens of others i can't recall, always coming from chloe, always 15 minutes before the show's end. but they have been doing that less, so i am thankful.

this week, they went with "she was sleeping ..... and there are majic rocks in the town she moved to.....so now she has....dreamy....going into.....powers (i think)." pretty weak. did they even say why she was going into clark's head specifically?

i did like lex's confrontation scene with clark, but i knew as soon as it was over they were gonna wimp out and have it all be a dream (or have lex lose his memory or something). they don't take many risks.

it lacks the charm of some shows (by the way, i am a buffy fan, and smallville borrows very heavily from it), but has hit some high points that make me keep going back to it.

btw, i missed part 2 of the season premiere and its killing me; what happened with lex? where did his wife go? was lionel really as innocent as he seemed? its been driving me crazy. i don't really care about the other plotlines---what the hell happened with lex?!? the next episode he seemed back to normal.

I agree with you on the characters, Lex and Lionel are the main reasons I watch the show still, whereas I am bored whenever Welling and Kreuk are on screen (together or apart).  Of course, my all time favourite character, Pete, is almost never seen... poor Pete. You think they would use him a lot more considering he
(I spoilerized in case people hadn't seen the episodes in question... probably not too necessary, as it was mentioned a lot last season. Still, I like spoiler tags even more than I like quote tags...

*bump*

hehe, i always wanted to do that.  :D

after the disappointingly cheesy '1961' ep and yet another 'lana-as-bad-girl' plot, i was seriously going to quit watching the show. but the preview for this week's ep, "shattered", looked intriguing enough, although i was sure it'd be wimpy, with everything turning out fairly alright and nothing really changing. maybe with some excuse, like the crap 'it was all a dream' or memory loss or something. like always.

but i was so happy that they went for it. they took a risk, did something bold, and possibly changed the direction of the series. i hope so at least. i don't see how everything could go back to normal after that.

micheal rosenbaum was supurb. he totally owned the show. i won't bother with complaints since i nitpick this show a lot and this really was a fine episode.

in conclusion to yet another long and mostly pointless rant: it was awesome. hope they keep it up.

With the last post being from last year I doubt many Futurama
are aso Smallville fans.  I couldn't love the show more, I've never missed an episode of the 1st or 3rd season yet.  Also the up coming episodes for the rest of the 3rd season look awesome (for info on up coming episodes go to kryptonsite.com note there are spoilers).Especially the new one with Christopher Reeve in it "Legacy", I can't wait for 4-14-04 (when the episode airs).

Also Buffy Sucks!

You know, I was considering bumping this just yesterday... I still watch it, but it has been disappointing as of late. They seem to introduce a lot of things with little to no payoff (ie. Adam. His whole point was just to find out stuff about Clark for Lionel? How boring). I am interested with the new development with Lionel's research, but we'll see.  I try not to read ahead on spoilers and stuff, I find it detracts from the experience, personally.

I think Adam was introduced for a what's going to happen next sort of thing, and it worked.
That's something that Smallville is good at, making people guess.  That's another reason I watch, besides convincable acting.
