The summer 2004 will be the big entry for Garfield into the movie world. One of the most popular animated characters in TV and newspapers will have its first movie feature. So what do you think? Will Garfield (who is spoken by Bill Murray) show his enormous popularity even on the big screen? I'm thrilled.

What about a movie "Garfield meets Nibbler"? The battle of the lassagne-lovers?  :D

The Garfield Xmas and Halloween specials are two of my favorite holiday programs.  I hope the movie is good as well.

Has Bill Murray always done the voice for Garfield, or is he just stepping in for the movie?

Bill Murray was one the Ghostbusters and he was the weatherman in Groundhog Day. As far as i know Garfield will be spoken for the first time by Murray. It will be a movie with real scenes (real actors) and computer created animation.

The original speaker in the Garfield tv series was Lorenzo 'Jerry' Music. He has died in 2001. More about him at http://us.imdb.com/Name?Music,%20Lorenzo

Too bad, I thought it was going to be animated.  Live action retreads of animated shows scare me, more so when a computer animated character is involved.  I think OC James had it right, this will be a bomb.

on Ign movies they have a picture of the 3D garfield wearing sunglasses and it looks terrible. Way to realilistic looking for Garfield.
The comic has been going downhill the last few years anyway.
