Here's one for all my fellow Star trek fans; I just love this: klingon.interpreter

Doubly-funny because this is from my city and state, doubly-sad because local schools are so strapped for cash, but there's money to pay a fanboy to speak Klingon. This seems like a position some local Klingon language expert would happily fill for free, if only to prove themselves.

Huh.

Well, I'm stumped. A way to sarcastically vent your frustration with bureaucracy, maybe? I dunno.

I will say this: the amount of press this is getting locally is incredible. We used to be the lumber state, then the assisted-suicide state, then the poor-schools state, and now we're the crazy fanboy state.

Actually, I kind of like the sound of that. I think that should be our motto, or on our license plates or something:

OREGON -- The crazy fanboy state.

Well, it's been getting slightly famous outside of Oregon, apparently.  I live in Ohio, and I was listening to the radio last night and they were talking about this.

Its funny, in HTML class today a few nerds brought up this same subject. I was shocked to hear some crazy star treck fans spoke Klingon. I was also thankful I wasnt a star treck fan.

This story started out pretty much as a joke, but it's being taken seriously by major news sources.  Go here and here for the truth.

I once had a girlfriend who could speak Klingon.

Now THAT was a turn-off.

I once had a girlfriend who looked like a Klingon, now there was a turn off, check and mate.

Funny, but since it isn't true we don't need a thread for it.
