By Rebecca Sugar, who is responsible for many of your favourite Adventure Time episodes and songs, here comes an Osamu Tezuka inspired loveletter to magical girls, gemstones and coming of age stories.

So what do you think?  Have any of you watched it?

Sorry it took so long to reply. You are not alone in your sentiment.

I love Steven Universe. It's such a charming animated program and I can't wait to uncover it's mythology! It's probably my favorite show on Cartoon Network.

Okay, so for the past 3 months now, I've been binge-watching this show like crazy.

So the show pretty much revolves around Steven and the Crystal Gems (Whom are like magical beings, or perhaps aliens that look literally just like human females, whom are also just like older sisters/mothers to Steven)

This show is honestly great. The beginning of the show, honestly wasn't that great. Episodes like the first one and Frybo leave alot to be desired. But much like other great shows, it got better as it progressed. The characters actually mature, new revelations and plot points keep getting revealed and this show is sucking me in the same way Gravity Falls did a couple years ago. I love the writing direction of this show. The characters. THE SOUNDTRACK. Pretty much everything is amazing. The humor isn't necessarily the best, but the great writing more than makes up for it.

Now, I don't know if many others on PEEL watch it, but it's currently going on a pretty bumpy road concerning the main story. The 3-parter and episode Joy Ride left alot to think about. It's really insane.

The show is supposed to come back from hiatus on June 14th, and it's pretty much going to be another big premiere week (They call it a steven bomb, which is when the 3-parter aired I think). Anybody else excited? Just me? Okay then.

I've never heard of this show. (Granted, I haven't had regular access to TV since before this show premiered.) Your descriptions intrigue me, though. I really love Adventure Time and Gravity Falls,* so maybe this is another Cartoon Network, erm, gem. From what little I've read (this thread and Wikipedia), it sounds pretty inspired.
