That is sad; at least he had a good innings.
The first thing I remember seeing him in was the short-lived 1975 version of 'The Invisible Man'.

^Oof, this is a tough one. I’ve seen every episode of Friends roughly six billion times—much like Futurama, it’s a show whose jokes and characters and cadences are just forever part of the fabric of my being—and harbored a significant crush on peak ‘90s Matthew Perry for most of my life.
He was a deeply troubled dude, but he fought his demons as best he could; it’s a bummer that he died so young, but a mercy that he no longer has to live every day struggling against addiction and its many horrible (emotional, mental, physical) side-effects. May he rest easy.

That's sad and a tiny bit weird, isn't Jimmy the one who was on hospice care? Regardless, I suppose both of them had reached the age where death stalks you at every turn. EDIT: Oh, according to the article you linked, she entered hospice care on Friday. Still! Jimmy has been in hospice all the way back from February! EDIT the second: Holy shit, am I too tired to process words correctly, or did an editor really fuck up not noticing this sentence? The position allowed Carter to continue her work in ending the mental crisis that she started as first lady of Georgia.

Man, I can’t even solve my own mental crisis, let alone that of an entire nation. Good on ya, Rosie. That's sad and a tiny bit weird, isn't Jimmy the one who was on hospice care?
My first thought upon hearing the news was that Jimmy probably won’t last much longer now. A man of his age who’s already in declining health and just lost his wife seems a prime candidate for broken heart syndrome. Poor guy.

Henry Kissinger has died at the ripe old age of 100. Real fucking ghoul who left the world a lot worse than he found it, but he will live on forever in my mind because of “War is the H-Word” (“This isn’t a productive area of discussion” is one of my most often quoted Futurama lines, for sure, and in general everything he says in the episode is comedic gold).

"Hangin's too good for 'em. Burnin's too good for 'em. He should be cut into itty-bitty pieces and buried alive."
I shan't post any politics-specific stuff here, but if you are not familiar with this person's background beyond, perhaps, the work he did with Nixon to open trade with China, I strongly urge you to look into his background, particularly in the context of the Vietnam War.

I think the guy turned out to be a real prick, but I was kind of bummed to learn that Ryan O'Neal died last week. I was obsessed with Love Story as a kid, and consequently had a big ol' crush on that dude circa 1970. I mean, what a cutie:

Damn! I really enjoyed his character in ST-ENT So many Trek actors gone. Majel Barrett, René Auberjonois, Jimmy Doohan, Leonard Nimoy, and so many others. Tachy is feeling old. * eidt * The first time I clicked your link I didn't notice that he also appeared in a couple of Star Trek fan productions!

He played Vulcan Ambassador Soval, and it was fun watching his character slowly transform from dismissing the upstart human space explorers, to one of humanity's strongest advocates. Some of the scenes between he and Jeffrey Combs are brutally intense, and ultimately pay off well.
He wasn't much older than me, so his death hits double.

RIP Hinton Battle. Otherwise known as the guy who would have played the Cat in the US version of Red Dwarf if it were not for various problems plaguing that project. Two unaired versions of the pilot were shot, and he did play the Cat in one of them (with Terry Farrell, aka Jadzia Dax in DS9 playing the Cat in the other). Anyway, y'all probably know him as the Lord of the Dance demon from Season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the Musical episode). He won three Tonys so I guess he probably did some other stuff too.

It's nice that the guy felt appreciated for that role. I've read that some actors dread being remembered for only one character. Others like Robert Patrick embrace it.
