Sure Hypnodisc would tear most opponents to shreds, but it would barely dent the titanium shell of Mortis.

Honestly, it's near impossible to penetrate Mortis's armour. I haven’t seen every episode, but out of what I've seen, Mortis has hardly even had a scratch from any of the other robots. It's always such a shame to see it go out simply because the caterpillar tracks malfunctioned, or it got pushed into the pit.

Screw doing damage. It never works. Flip 'em over, and let the house robots go to town.
I wanna see someone build and enter a working replica of Sir Killalot.

You mean Predator? Yeah, that was cool (the fight, not the robet). Hypnodisc basically destroyed to robets in one fight. Too bad they didn't go for the total kill, but backed off.

The battles of Series 1 were the best, I liked the way the very final round had all 6 finalists together in one battle ground.

I like the challenges, myself. They ditched 'em? Boo!
And the flying wedge/flipping bar design still owns you

Yep, they sure where efficient against Hypnodisc in the last war. Not a single one of them survived the meeting. All you need to defeat that is a self-righting mechanism.
Okay, granted, Chaos 2 are a formidable robot, and it did surprise Hypnodisc, but the next time it'll be ready for the scrap-heap.

Remind me, because I'm lazy and have a slow connection - what design was Chaos 2?
And if the wedge is low enough, you get under hypnodisc and lift it up without said disc touching you. After that, it's just what Bender wanted (Do a flip!).
Of course, there's always The Old Fridge from that Bud-light commercial.

Ah yes, I remember that one now. Not a traditional flying wedge (see: Cassius), but it worked rather well, as I recall.

It did work "rather well" it flipped several other robots right out of the arena.

Hypnodisc is by far the most devastating robot ive ever seen in the wars. (only seen two seasons though). I still remember last season when it trashed whats-its-name into so many pieces that they had to carry it home in a sack! Even Craig couldnt believe what he saw during that match. But personally i havta go for 101 (or whats it called now) for the simple reason that it is the cheapest robot in the wars and still can kick some serious butt (even if they didnt go very far). Tornado also seems to be a newcomer to reckon with. It has no real weapons but a couple of spikes on the front and back but MY what P O W E R in those engines! The others hadnt a chance when it pushed them around the arena like helpless dolls. ah, yes. Robot wars is wonderful! British one anyway. The American ROBOTICA must be the suckiest show ive seen in a LONG time. Man, that guy looks like he's high on drugs or something and those robots mostly look like plain metal boxes with wheels. *Shrug* British robot wars all the way! Hopefully, we'll even get our own robot wars here in sweden eventually if only enough people decide to build a robot. It seems as though there is a huge interest for it though, so ill keep my fingers crossed!

Sure, Razor's sexxy as hell, but both times it screwed itself over in the first round. If they could keep it from locking up, it would be one hell of a contender.

It was cool seeing Choas 2 in action again. I can't believe that he couldn't just flip back up after laying upside-down. Really there shouldn't have a been a re-match because the other robot immobilised first.

Well, I just thought of making a "Robot Wars" thread, because they started showing it (British, both "Battlebots" and the American "Robot Wars" are dead) on TechTv in May. But then I decided I'd dig this one up. What series are the brits on? They just ended the one where Razer beat Bigger Brother for the grand championship here on TechTV.
EDIT: would they let a robot where a tree mill saw was the weapon participate, or would that be too large of a weapon? ------------------

That series ended a little while back, I'm not sure if it was the last series on here, or the one before that, now we have "Robot Wars Extreme". It is basically a filler in between regular series, with themed programmes, for example last night all the robots were controlled by children, next week it is the "tag team challenge"
