I think I liked Robotica better than Robot Wars.  The latter seemed to be litle more than two mechanized thugs duking it out.

British is better, but i think they're over-doing it a bit. I dunno, not as fun as the first few wars (except when robots like Hypnodisc come on!)

I dunno, the new series of matches they're showing seems to me like they bumped the money factor up for the show. The host and the girl in the pits are wearing really shitty yellow jackets they shouldn't have to wear. I just wish that three robots from Battlebots came onto Robot Wars:
Nightmare:

this one:
And Warbird (or whatever it was called. It looked like the bastard child of Razer and a much nastier HypnoDisc. It could do some nasty damage:

^the robot in the bottom left corner is the one I'm talking about.

Here's one of Nightmare and Warbird together (middle right):

I think those bots would feel right at home in Robot Wars. Maybe even give Sir Kill-A-Lot a run for his money.

Isn't it on TechTV now (Robot Wars that is) - or was that the point of this thread?

I still watch Robot Wars from time to time...bring back Jeremy Clarkson!   :)
I still maintain that HypnoDisc's first fight was the most carnage ever seen on TV...

Hey, since TechTV's finally gotten to the mini-tournaments past the first wars where Growler was introduced (6th? 7th), how many of these mini-competitions did they have before the next official numbered War started up?

I'm not sure, I have hardly watched it since it switched to Channel Five as they initially put it on at the same time as something else I'd rather be watching, then I just forgot about it.

If the Robots were any good and actually were capable of dealing out some hard punishment such as proper hydralics and err.. stuff then it might have been fun.

To many safety rules etc.. so the shows lost there potential as soon as they started.
