I have been binge-watching this show for the past five days and I am officially obsessed now. JUST SAYIN'.
It is just the ultimate perfect show. I have to say, it is just up my alley with nerds. I'm a nerd, although nowhere as nerdy as the guys in the show. Also Howard is an aerospace engineer, I have to immediately love that.

I've been watching a lot more of this show lately too, although I must have missed goth Howard. I'm finding it kinda scary how much I can relate to Sheldon...

An ass with tight hoochie pants.
Ugh that doesn't make it better! Plus any benefits gleaned from the pants are cancelled out by the dickey. Otis: "The Gothowitz Deviation." Is hilarious.

I would rather hang out with Penny..
Well yes, that would be a bonus. The sad thing is, watching all of their pathetic love lives (aside from Penny) made me realise something, that even by their own pathetic standards they're still doing better than I am (aside from Sheldon), but even he's had more interest from the opposite sex in recent times than I have. I'd have to be hanging out with an even nerdier group of people to even up. Wow my life is pathetic...

I guess my life is ok, just my non-existent love life is pretty pathetic. Here's to 2012 being better than at least Sheldon's for love! If I'm lucky I might even build up to Howard's level!...

Not as pretty as Howard! And that fashion sense, he totally owns it! Thanx though ...

Sheldon's got a girlfriend...and he's asexual. I say they all need to look up to HIM!

Agreed, though they are damn cute together. Am I the only one who wishes they had some friends like them though? NO. I will proudly sound sad with you. SpaceGoldfish Jivefunk sounds ridiculous but in a good way.

I had friends kinda like that, but not as funny (similar situation - I was friends with a "Leonard" and then communicated with his roomies/friends). I am hanging with a new crew of mainly 3 guys though, and they're pretty awesome. And funny.

I am actually a little perplexed that people thought the Pilot was at the pinnacle of the highest it could be. I thought it was decent, but what made it so great to you guys that other episodes lack? I have felt this season a bit letdown in comparison to the rest of the seasons because, as cyber pointed out, it seems very mundane with typical sitcom dramedy and not enough main nerd plots of which the show needs to feast on. Like this week's episode, aside from the opening flag gag (teehee), I felt it pretty pointless. It focused on Leonard and Penny's ship (relationship sitcom) and then had something that should have been a 1 or 2 minute bit with Raj and his phone last an entire episode. It all just seemed like filler and left me feeling a little empty watching it after it started out so great with Sheldon. His was the only plot I felt worth sustaining the episode, but without other character's sideplots to support his I can see how some might feel his plot was a little drawn out too. The great episodes to me were the ones that involved plots like waiting outside the midnight premiere of Indiana Jones (very Seinfeld ish in its unique nature), competing in a physics bowl, having a LAN party, or buying a time machine. I just saw that last one tonight, it was pretty great with its involvement of Leonard wanting to look good in Penny's eyes, only to revert back to his old nature when he sees he doesn't have a chance with her. So true. My favorite episode (or one of them) to date has to be when Penny becomes the gamer girl. So many things are happening in that episode that are great from the online dating to the odd escalation of Sheldon/Penny's relationship. But back to my original question, what about the pilot exactly makes it so great for you guys? I find Penny's character a little introverted from where she stands now with strangers...she's very talkative!
