I like it for three reasons:

- It's funny
- The girl that lives next door (to the nerds) was in '8 Simple Rules', also starring...a certain K. Sagal (small world, isn't it?)
- The Barenaked Ladies do the opening theme song

  :)

ROFL:

Leonard:Hang on... Black beans, not pinto beans?
Sheldon: Yes.
Leonard: Double guacamole?
Sheldon: Of course.
Leonard: Lettuce shredded, not chopped?
Sheldon: Yes.
Leonard: You understand why I'm doing this?
Sheldon: I do.
Leonard: That will be all.
[Sheldon walks away]
Leonard: That was fun!

What? Blosson? This might be tons of potential fun.... (including the posibility of Sheldon having a date... you are right Howard.. what you have dooone!

Funny season..tought it was imho inferior to first and second ones..  it got better in the later episodes but the middle block pretty much centered on Sheldon being almost moronic than he being a genius with seems to have Asperger.... who is part of the scientifics group.. not the sole protagonist of the series.. they also "dumbed" a lot Leonard.... Leonard is suposed to be a great scientish , not probably same level as Sheldon.. but a really smart guy, and most of the season he is protrayed practically like a standard geek with not much genious whos most experiments fail ..
This got a bit better throught the end of the season.. still.. one of my fav shows :D

All I know about that show is that Darlene's husband from Roseanne plays one of the main characters, and that it's made by the same guy as Two and a Half Men, but I haven't really watched any of it. I have watched Two and a Half Men though, not as bad as people say.

And the actress who played Darlene is also one of the scientists in the show that Leonard occasionally sleeps with.

I do enjoy the show and I do like some of the background jokes mostly written on Sheldon's board.

It is amazing how many shows use the same actors for the minor roles, must be really easy to do 6 degrees of seperation if you use TV shows.

and hey David, yeah thought since the show has returned I might stop lurking again.

Well, I did watch the first season. It had a lot of teh smart humor I crave... I just wish they'd get rid of the laugh track. Laugh tracks are obsolete and need to die.

Season 2's on my Netflix queue, but it's behind the first season of Chuck and the first half of Azumanga Daioh, so I've got a while.

It's a great show and the first two seasons are hilarious. I didn't see all of the third season but most of the episodes I saw were good but not quite on the level of previous seasons. I feel like they're going for a bit more Two and a Half Men humor which really isn't necessary.

Other than that it's pretty funny and it satisfies my inner-geek.

I've been watching this quite a bit lately, it's becoming one of my favourite shows because it's so damn funny and ridiculous in the most nerdish way. Sheldon is a legend, I don't know how the actor keeps a straight face, I really don't :D...

I believe tnuk was the first person to try to trick me into watching this show.  He sent me a copy of the theme music, and I enjoyed it enough.  However, I didn't watch television at the time, and then within a few months time there were a lot of other people randomly suggesting this show to me.  They'd say that I seemed like the person who would enjoy it, or that one of the characters on the show reminded them of me.  So, without much difficulty, I refused to watch the show for quite some time... just as a principle of the matter, but also because I didn't watch much television.  I eventually did watch the show a few months ago over at my sister's place.  It was as I expected of it... a rather decent and generally humorous show.

They are quite pointless aren't they? If you don't know when to laugh, then you shouldn't be wtahcing the show. One show where I did enjoy a laugh track though was Married...with Children. Because of all the hooting and woooOOOOoooo hahaha so ridiculous.

Thanks for bumping the thread Otis. I love this show. My mom is actually the one who got me into it. She watches Two and a Half Inches Men (I don't) and told me I would like this one and I kept putting it off like ehhh. I finally saw an episode from second season and was like wow, this is amazing. And then got my cousin to watch it as well. She doesn't even get half the nerd references...but she likes it anyway heh. I ended up buying First Season for her but when I saw it I kept it for myself. :shifty:

I always see the Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock t shirt online but that existed before the show. They just categorize it under BBT.

Seen a few more eps lately. This one where they are playing Wii Archery at the beginning on Wii Sports Resort, and Sheldon gets an arrow from his pretend sachet before firing every time. Later on he runs out of arrows and walks to the TV screen to pretend to re-fill his sachet. Major lols, and Leonard makes a comment about him getting value for money out of his games :laff:...

I also liked the WOW ep where they end up driving to this guys house who stole Sheldon's thousands of hours worth of WOW stuff, but fail and Penny comes to the rescue...

One day I might actually buy these on DVD, it's such a great show!...

Believe it or not it gets even better! I've seen most of them now I think. I'm not too sure about Sheldon's girlfriend though. I know she's meant to be similar, but having two characters like that seems a bit overkill sometimes...

I'm only halfway on board with this... It seems like lots of the "jokes" aren't really proper jokes as much as they're simply "mention esoteric in that particular voice -> get laughs". Some of it is really very solid, though.

edit: Come to think of it, that's what Family Guy does with its references too.
