not a huge fan, don't really like the characters, and the show is needlessly violent and grotesque

The violence is not my problem. It's that it's extremely condescending towards metalheads (I'm sad to see that many of them don't get this, and I am also sad to see high-profile metal names guest starring on this diarrhea storm of a show). It's a clear-cut example of hipsters standing at a distance observing a subculture they don't, can't and won't understand. This show belongs in the same landfill as the trend that makes Britney Spears cover I Love Rock n' Roll and which in turn makes her fans wear Motörhead and AC/DC shirts.

It's okay when it just focuses on the band members being absolute morons. When it gets into apocalyptic conspiracy crap, that's when it dies.
