What other cartoons can you name take place in the future?  Besides The Jetsons and the obvious.

A lot of Japanese anime.
Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis (and anything else mecha-related). GITS, Akira.
Blue Gender, interestingly, is about a spiky orange-haired loser who gets cryogenically frozen in our time and awakened in the future. Hah. The similarity ends there, but Yuji's very Fry-ish to begin with.

I'm not entirely sure but i think Invader Zim might take place in the future cuz they have hovering computers and such and they have things in "history" that never happened and stuff like that but i don't know if they ever actually said what time it takes place

The Star Wars Droids series from the eighties is another example.

The animated series of Star Trek.

Hey, was Captain Planet set in the future or what? They seemed to have pretty high technology...

Plenty of anime takes place in the future, but just as much, if not more, does not.

Reboot doesn't take place in the future.  It takes place inside a computer.

I don't think so; I think that it was just written by people who didn't have a very firm grasp on reality.

I never knew Captain N took place in the future.  I liked it when it was out.  The Sonic cartoon that was on Saturdays on ABC took place in the future.  The year 3235 to be exact.

Well, technically the Star Wars ones don't... I mean, it's a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, right?
