So, um yeah, what did y'all think of the Super Bowl?  Not just the game, but the commercials, the pre-game, Mariah Carey, the half-time show, everything.

Mariah Carey got booed by almost everyone in the campus center.  My college showed the game through a projecter onto the wall.  Britney Spears craptastic Pepsi commericals probably got booed the most, though.  The half-time show reminded me of why I love U2.  It was a really classy show, especially the tribute to Sept. 11.  I decided on nicknames for John Madden and Pat Summerall: Captain Obvious and the Senile Kid.  Budweiser had some pretty good commercials early.  Overall, I'd say the commercials were about average.  The game was really good, too.

What was the deal with Paul McCartney?  Made me hate him just for being there.  They had him talking about U2, football and America.  None of those things have anything to do with Paul McCartney.  Stupid football

the mariah thing just made me feel bad for her.  I couldn't even mock her.  It's so sad. Her voice is in the crapper that's for sure.  She was singing all softly like people who can't really sing do.  That's what fame'll do to you.  Chew you up and spit you out.

Her voice is in the crapper because of what's happening with her relationship. It's screwed her up emotionally. The U2 concert was good, and so was the game. Patriots won it with a last-minute field goal! I wished the game went into overtime, though. That would be really cliffhanging.

The commercials were OK, but I liked the ones about the new cars best, mostly cuz I'm into cars. Britney Spears did it again with her Pepsi commercials. I swear, if TV didn't exist, her singing career wouldn't have taken off.

I haven't watched a Super Bowl in years, to be honest I don't even know who was playing this year. I used to watch it years ago but it was on so late at night that on more than one occassion I fell asleep before it ended.

Hey, did the Barenaked Ladies perform?  I swear, that's the only thing I wanted to see, and it's the only thing I didn't.

were they supposed to perform?

oh and justchris, several years ago Mariah developed polyps (sp?) on her vocal chords, thus contributing to her "sexy" makeover and singing talent makeunder

Wait, you mean she was actually singing live, and not lip-syncing to a recording?

i didn't say that.  of course she was lip syncing, but she was still lip syncing to a recording of herself singing.  she's no milli vanilli

I hereby hate Super Bowl. TV3 decided they wouldn't show the game live this year (in fact, they weren't going to show it at all). And that's the only channel I receive which ever shows any American football.

Second, I took a wager on St Louis to score the last points of the game...

I thought the game was good. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the commercials, but what I saw sucked. Danny Devito is scary as hell(but why did they keep calling him a puppet when he was clearly a stop-motion animaton?).

I didn't watch the halftime show. Come to think of it, I didn't watch the post-game show or the pregame show either(although I caught part of Mariah's singing. So sucky). I watched Malcolm but didn't really pay attention. So to sum it all up, everything sucked except for the actual football. I guess overall it was better than last year's superbowl.

We had the superbowl airing live (i think!) on SBS here, and well since Gridiron doesn't really interest me, I didn't really watch it. I did flick over from time to time and did fortunately get to catch the halftime show with U2. That was really amazing. I was impressed and it was beautiful with the whole song and Sept 11 names list thing. Very classy production there.

Oh in addition, I don't think they showed any advertisements here... Australian or American.
