Eh, it had a lot of potential, but the plot was waaaayy too rushed for my liking. Too many ideas to explore in such little time.

I disagree. Although I have hated all of the clips we have seen so far, this trailer renews my faith in the movie. I'm pretty damn hyped up about this movie now actually! Bart skateboarding again is awesome, and naked is good too because he's a bad boy again like how he was originally. We have evil Mr Burns, not stupid decrepid senile Burns. A good portion of Flanders, always good. All of those one-shot characters have been brought back too. Even Gabbo is back (I know he's not one-shot, but rarely used all the same...)
My biggest problem with The Simpsons Movie is what the fuck are Green Day doing in it!? I mean jeez!...

The trailers haven't told me anything about the plot, which makes me happy since I like going to a movie without knowing what to expect. I want to go see the Simpsons Movie without knowing what happens so it'll be a totally surprising experience for me.
As for the last episode, it was very good. The last two episodes have been better than episodes of the recent past.

and better... There is an argument about this on No Homers Club board. Their is your side, and then the majority who think that a Simpsons episode takes much longer to produce than a South Park ep and therefore which was first from conception is impossible to determine...

James L. Brooks said all simpsons trailer were fake and had nothing to do with the movie, apparently they were just created to silence the fans http://www.widescreen-online.de/?article_id=600399 "It all started when people kept askin us about the story of the movie. So we had fun creating fake storylines. With every trailer we made more of that. Also we will continue doing so."

...and possibly my favorite episode since season 10. *slaps you around* I have no clue what Kent supposedly said, but the curse Skinner told Bart was "beach ball;" Bart uses it later in the episode when he realizes that Jimbo and the other bullies have left the house ("Son of a beach ball!" ). No, that was definitely a completely unrelated joke...that would make no sense if that was the word. I'm not positive if the swear he supposedly told him was actually supposed to be established or not. I'm sure the writers had something in mind, but I'm pretty sure you couldn't hear anything distinguishable when he whispered to Bart. Not as sure as I am with the Kent one, though. Does anyone know what was the terrible curse that Kent said? You can hear it a bit when he first says it. No, I'm pretty positive you can't. All you hear is jibberish grumbling that sounds like some sort of curse, but doesn't actually resemble any real word or words, at least not intentionally. I'm almost certain it wasn't supposed to imply a real word at all. It was just a gag that it was "the worst curse word imaginable" (or whatever Marge's exact quote was) but we didn't hear it or ever find out what it was. It's probably either no real word at all, or a bunch of curse words melded together (it sounded like a long grumbling). If it was supposed to be a real curse, though, based on the length I'd have to guess mother f*cker (even though, in my opinion, it seems like the most taboo word to use in public these days is c*nt, heh). Anyway, I was very impressed by both episodes. I can't remember the last time since the end of Season 15 that I actually laughed out loud at more than about 2 jokes in a new episode of the Simpsons, and I did that for many more than 2 jokes in each episode (especially the Shelbyville line that was mentioned at the end of 24 Minutes). 24 Minutes was a much more creative episode than the second, and for me had a few more laughs, but it also happened to have a LOT more embarrassing cringeworthy stuff than the second. Because of that I liked You Kent Always Get What You Want better in terms of quality. It had a lot of funny jokes for me as well. I also enjoyed the Tracey Ullman short (was that the first one that ever aired?) that was mentioned, and as was said, it was a nice touch. And I enjoyed the political stuff at the end. Actually, to be honest, in my opinion that would have made about as good a SERIES finale as fans could hope for at this point in the game. Sure, it didn't give too much of an emotional punch which would be nice, but we haven't seen a good emotional episode at all for a VERY long time. Plus, what better way to go out than to take a big swipe at FOX... But oh well. If we're gonna keep going, at least we'll break all those records, I suppose.

Just a few more weeks and they get The Simpsons Movie. So what date is the Movie out in the USA? I think it is out in the UK 26/27th July.
Also I watched two episodes, which I find really good. The one where Bart almost marries this knocked up teenage girl and the one where they did a spoof from 24. The 24 episode was the best.

It's getting a simultaneous international release - July 27 in the US and the 26th/27th everywhere else depending on timezones (it'll be the 26th in Australia and the UK).
