No, the clown's right. I'm sick of hearing gym nerds talk about how "defined" all the men in the film were and how inspiring it was and then adding "oh and that one chick was hot too" as an afterthought. John Carpenter's The ThingOh man, now this is a horror film. 12 guys cooped up together in an Antartic research station, chuck in an evil planet-devouring alien dog and two Norwegians (I was worried too, but they die quick) and you've got yourself a movie! I'm still coming up with theories about which person was infected when... A+Hot FuzzGreat! I want to go drop a church spire on someone now. A+Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3I hate CGI more and more with every passing day. Sucked big fat turtle balls. F

Blades Of Glory was indeed great, can't go wrong with a cast like that. Amy Poehler creeps me out though, GOB Arnett could do a lot better, but I got dibs on Jenna Fischer! A+Gimme an Anchorman, Talladega Nights and Blades of Glory DVD box set please!

Hot FuzzExcellent stuff, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright know movies, and know how to make good movies, that are ten times better than most Hollywood shit spewed out these days. The three different acts were cool, and Timothy Dalton was great (Rocketeer moustache! ) Keep making them guys! A

Spida' Man 3!
Saw it last night at the midnight showing. Despite some lame parts, I think I'd have to say I like this one the best out of all three.
The special effects are "OMFG PRETTY", and just happened to contain my two favorite Marvel Villains: Sandman and Venom. Both of which were portrayed pretty well, all things considering. Unlike SJM, I particularly liked Venom's design, but I only wish Eddie Brock had played a more prominent role as the black, pointy-toothed badass.
Highlight of the movie: The absolutely hilarious scenes when the venom poison is overtaking Peter Parker and he turns emo. Then proceeds to strut down the street, dancing and snapping to his own groovy theme music, all while passerbys look at him like he's a fucking nutjob.
Oh yeah, and Sandman was awesome in the movie. The fight scenes between him and Spidey are worth the price of admission alone.
Overall, I loved this movie. Go see it. 9.2/10

Spider-emo 3Awful, they spent how many billion on this shit? The dancing, the singing, the emo fringe, the shot of the USA flag, the long boring scenes and convenient setups (Brock in the church, I'm talking to you) Stan Lee getting a line, terrible. Worst Spider-man Ever, Grace as Venom, J.K. Simmons and Sandman (to be more specific Hayden Church) didn't get enough screen time. I enjoyed J.K. Simmons scene and Bruce Campbells appearance but not much else. D+

I really, really intensely disliked emo-Parker. I hated him. I despised him. I wanted the Sandman to come along and choke him with sand. Stupid little sidewalk-grooving spaz. Although the Jazz bar scene was hilarious. Originally posted by SlackJawedMoron: Um, I had no problem with his DESIGN, it's just the fact that Venom is in the film for a whole 15 minutes. Those fifteen minutes are the best minutes of the movie. Venom has to be the best Spidey villain ever, and they exploded him! Why? Why? Why? Doc Ock would have made a wonderful recurring bad guy, and they drowned him. The Green Goblin was awesome, and he died. The pussy. Harry Osgoblin was amazing, and he went all nicey-nicey. The Sandman, well, he was a hardened criminal idiot. They let the doofus live... and I'm guessing that he'll be back for more undeserved screen time at the first opportunity. Spider-man isn't about the dopey hero. It's about the cool bad guys, and they keep killing the best ones off!!! Gah. I'm losing patience with these comic book films. To date, Sin City is the only one that seems as faithful to the source material as it should be. The rest just deviate too much from what made them addictive. It was worth the price of admission just to have you write almost exactly word-for-word what I thought about it right before I came online. Bravo, Faze. I feel like we're suddenly a lot closer. You're the real superhero here. Also, did it seem to anybody else that the butler guy was "coming out" to Harry when he said I loved your father... Or do I just have a perverse brain?[/small] Edit: Spoilers tagged.

hah, I really couldn't stand the whole peter parker combing his hair and acting all emo bit. spiderman 3The movie wasn't a let down, I just wasn't blown away by it (except for some of the CGI. good lord, they have some particle effects masters). I think there's a lot of critics being very nit-picky. dunst has two parts where she sings for about a minute, who cares, how is that an issue unless you have some prejudice against kirsten? I think they did alright for trying to squeeze so much into one movie. however as a sacrifice they don't put much effort into how these things got started, the back story seems a bit like a cop out. ie, how sandman became sandman and where the black suit came from. still though, despite overly corny/dramatic parts, it's a good story they do a good job of tying everything together, the special effects and action scenes are awesome and add to the story (they didn't need to tack 'em on to cover up a bad story like they did with superman, is what I'm getting at) 8/10was anybody else really disappointed that they killed Harry? I mean, he was such a cool and friendly guy in the middle of the movie, very convincing and then his memory returns and he becomes an asshole again. That terrible actor of a butler should have set him strait a long time ago.
but no- kill Harry and let the sandman go free.

Spiderman 3I thought it was ok, the first fight scene was the best. Parker vs Harry in the city, best spiderman fight scene ever. I wanted to know what Harry was drinkin' after MJ left. One swig and he gets flashbacks and becomes evil? It had to be some hard liquor with some PCP. I also thought the emo parker performance at the jazz club was hilarious. At that point I didn't care about sterotypes I had to yell "OOOooohhhh, Pick yo' face up MJ! Pick up your face." LOL. And once emo parker hit MJ, the whole audience was shocked for an instant. It was like "Oh no, domestic violence." I still couldn't take Eric Foreman as a villian. I wish Venom had more time in the movie and that there was just one huge Spidey vs Venom one-on-one scene. This movie had better action scenes than the previous 2, so I liked it.
Show was right, the real villian was the butler. He had to wait 1 3/4 movie time, before he tells Harry the truth. Like after the rumble in the Mansion and Harry turns into two-face, NOW is the time to say something. A-, It could have been better, but I liked it. And thats all that matters to me.

Batman Begins is closer than the previous movies to the original source. How's that? That butler was nothing like Michael Caine. To be perfectly honest, all the Batman continuities have been so hideously warped and played around with that this latest version of the franchise is just another mish-mash of generic Batmanesque images. Like Spider-man. With any print-to-film transition, something is lost. Case in point: Jurassic Park, The Lost World. Awesome novel. Terrible, terrible, awful, wank-stain of a film. Films that are original productions are much purer, as there's nothing to compare them to. Can you imagine if Star Wars had been a printed book or comic book before being turned into a movie trilogy? The fan reactions would have been divided between those who saw the films as a bold new imagining and those who wanted to hang George Lucas from the nearest tree (kind of like the reaction to the Phantom Menace). I guess I'm just whining out of habit here, I mean, I knew they were going to change the storylines to fit within a single film, and that Spider-man was going to be made into an obnoxious little punk whilst he was melded with Venom... I just expected a slightly more polished job, I suppose.
