907: Erection DayA great finish to the first half of Season 9 and a definite improvement over the first few lacklustre episodes. Highlights: - "Nut-Gobbler" - The 'Mr Mackey Is Gay' joke at the beginning, funny and entirely possible - The talent show (Agree with new_hook on the Goth Kids being the best: "That was killer! We totally showed them!" "Yeah, I hope we win." ) - The chase scene - Ms Garrison "Now let's tally up the judge's scores and see which act they hated the least." Personally, I liked this slightly more than 906, which I thought ran a little slow at times. My favourite episode of the season, just before 906, then 904. A+Talent Shows Are For Fags

Think Dr Pal was a member from NAMBLA?
Also, Cartman had a few good bits (Dropping Bombs, The White Fat Hitch and his Impression of Scarface).

Oh my god I remember that episode. That was the worst and terrible episode I ever seen. How can they get away with that episode?

I liked Erection Day. The Mr. Mackey joke was indeed great, Butters and his "facts about life" was great, and the whole thing with Nutgobbler was great.

Erection Day was good until they got to the hooker chase, I felt that the whole sequence didnt work very well and was not funny. I dunno, I just dont find 9 year old cripples chasing obese hookers to have much comedic or shock value.

Poor Nurdy. He hasn't yet learned that South Park characters will only ever age once...

Since entering Fourth Grade, their ages seem to go back and forth from 8 to 9. The first mention of one of the kids being 9 was from Kyle in Cartmanland. Although technically he should be 10 after Casa Bonita, I don't really think it matters. Hell, he said he was 8 again in Good Times With Weapons, so it's debatable. Either way, none of the boys have ever said they're over the age of 10, even if they are in Grade 4. Anyway, I saw Erection Day yesterday. Absolutely hilarious. I was expecting the worst, but I was laughing the whole way through it. Considering the subject matter of the storyline, they handled it somewhat tastefully while still managing to throw in enough shock value & disgusting humour to keep me happy. The ending was a tad disappointing, I guess, but still, a decent episode, and a nice way to wrap up this run of the season. Would've given it a 7.5, but the Goth kids' band bumped it up another half-point. 8/10

Oh my god I watched Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina and I thought the episode was weird, freaky, bizarre and very very funny. The Mr Garrison, Kyle and Kyle’s dad transformation was good but at the same time freaky. Cleverly done. I couldn’t stop myself laughing.

Yeah what is that episode where Russel Crow fights around the world. I think it was one of the best.

Totally stupid plot, but easily one of the funniest things of all time - and I'm not just going by South Park here, either. It might very well be the most I've ever laughed in 20 minutes, I had tears in my eyes over Tugger walking down the street, and they didn't seem to stop for the remainder of the episode. A classic, hilarious episode indeed... sigh, if only they could pull one like that off again...

Did you guys know there was a South Park reference in the anime mini-series FLCL (a.k.a. "Fooly Cooly" )? From http://www.spscriptorium.com/SPinfo/SPrefs.htm Anyone heard of FLCL? It was a six-episode show that aired in Japan in 1999, when South Park was at its most popular, what with SP:BLU coming out on June 30 that year and all. FLCL ("Furi Kuri", taken from a symdrome - FLictonic CLiple Weber Syndrome - in the first episode that's supposed to make you horny... literally!) was a pretty experimental anime which used many animation techniques derived from both TV and print. The scenes which have the images fade out towards the edges of the screen are particularly nostalgic. The fifth episode has two scenes in which South Park references can clearly be seen. The first of these is a group of people at a barbershop. The second is that of 12-year-old Nandaba Naota as Kenny, with bugged out eyes. FLCL is also known as Fooly Coolly, the caption under a picture of Naota taken by Mamimi, a high school student who went on to become a professional photographer. Fooly Coolly has gone on to become the name of a band.
