Is anyone going to watch this comedy on FOX? I still dont know what to think. I have only seen commercials for it.

I think it looks like it has potential to be very funny. I think they are focusing too heavily on the rounchy sex gags(the show has jokes about weiners and there is one scene where two characters have sex on a bed at a funiture store  :puke: ) . Hopefully they can turn it around and be a little; more mature because the cast has some chemistry and I think the show could grow into being something great.

I will probably check out the first few episodes. What does everyone else think?

I though it was life on a stick?

Anyways, it looks so Juvenile, yet at the same time it looks like the older less edgier Fox, so I might check it out.

Something's going on at FOX. They have a bunch of new shows coming out. (Not including the 'rebirth' of "A Current Affair".) More than likely half those shows will be cancelled in the first or second season. (Although I could always be wrong.)

On a somewhat unrelated matter, what is the show "A Current Affair" supposed to be about, and why is it premiering so late? (I think at 11:00p.m.[pst].)

Yeah, "Life On a Stick" seems to be just another sitcom/comedy Fox has made that won't reach Season 3, or maybe even not Season 2! Just another effort by Fox to find the hole to fill from getting rid of Married...With Children all those years ago. And look at it. Fox has had more one show series and cut in the middle of a season series than anyother network. I always show Fox's stupidity by saying "Fox replaced an Emmy winning show with...The Simple Life."

i dunno about "A Current Affair" in America, but in Australia we have a show by the same name, and it is a show about....well Current Affairs. its where they chase shoddy builders around with camera's, talk about how children are fat and bitch about pollution and stuff like that. Although its probably just a coincidence that they have the same name, and in america it probably won't be the same thing

Wow. That's a wild choice there. Going for 7 episodes. That's just insane...way to more than Fox would give it. So I'd say 6.

"A Current Affair" is like "Dateline" or another newsmagazine show, except much much sleazier.

FUCK FOX  :finger:  :finger:

I tuned in to watch the season premere of Life As A Stick And did I get to see it? NO it was cancelled for American Idle. I have never been so mad since That 80s Show was taken off the Air.

Yeesh.  I dunno man.  There's lots of things to be mad at Fox for, but the cancellations of "That 80's Show"?  And not being able to see the premiere of some show that probably sucks?

These days, if its on one of the major networks  (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, etc) and its not "The Simpsons", I won't watch it.  Sitcoms have gone to shit recently.

Ok Im not saying The 80s Show was GREAT but I do not think they were being very prudent to cancel it. Every show seems bad at first. Was I Love Lucy gut-hilarious when it first came on NO. But the cast had time to jell and it grew into one of the most sitcoms of all time. That 80's Show could have done the same.

I think thats the difference between myself and others on this web forume. I actually have an open mind when it comes to good TV shows.

Most (eventually good)shows at least start off with more promise and quality then "That 80's Show".  But as it stands, they were an incredibly lame spin-off of a show that already kinda sucked (and is amazingly still on).  Fox has cancelled far better shows, like Andy Ricther, as well as that one sci-fi cartoon whose name I can't quite place....

DavidA: No, haven't been watching them.  I tried watching AD once and couldn't get into it, but I'll probably give it another shot or two.  To be honest though I don't think I could get used to the shooting-style even if I loved the writing.  The shaky-cam look kind of makes me sick.

Arrested Development is great, and I was watching Scrubs at the beginning, but I lost track of it with the schedule changes. I haven't really been watching sitcoms as of late, other than the Simpsons.

I never said That 80s Show was a good show; I just said that I liked it.

It made me feel like I wasn't the only guy who had a bisexual ex-girlfriend who hit on his little sister.

I could see how that might be a problem.  Also, it is kind of a hard show to get into, if you haven't been watching from the beginning.

You should give Scrubs a try, though.  They even had an episode recently that made fun of sitcoms.

I was replying more to DaveMason on the That 80's Show stuff, for the record.

As for Scrubs, I might check into it sometime.    The other issue though (along with the quality issues of most television) is honestly just the fact that I only have so much time and especcially patience to watch shows right now.  I can usually only track two or three shows at a time (currently, The Simpsons, The Daily Show, and South Park for me) without it becoming overkill, even if I like every show I'm tracking.  I prefer to do other things, plus sometimes I'm just too busy.

I have no intention of watching this crap.  I wouldn't be surprised if it does last long, considering FOX has an affinity for sit-coms about ne'er-do-wells.  Anyone remember 'Undeclared'?

I may be wrong, but if "Undeclared" is the show by the same guys as "Freaks and Geeks," then that show only lasted a few episodes before Fox yanked it. It was pretty good, from what I saw of it.

Dave, I'm not closeminded.  I just have trouble with a show where a joke about "zebra pants" was supposed to be comic gold.

For those interested (and since its been brought up), "Undeclared" is apparently going to be released on dvd this summer.

I just watched the premiere of "Life on a Stick." The first few jokes fell flat on their faces, but they got better while the show went on. This show really has some potential, in my opinion. There's a lot of directions that it can go from here.

DotheBartman, did you even watch The 80s Show? I am just wondering where your baseless acusations come from.

ANYway, I am still angry at FOX for cancelling Life As A Stick for another episode of American Idle. But luckily a copy of the first episode is floating around on the internet and I downloaded it with my bitorrent. I think I agree with bend&fryer I wasn't BLOWN AWAY but the show got better and better as it went on and I think if the show continues it will really be something to watch out for. As long as FOX keeps showing it it will gain a steady audience and I can guarantee that.

I think my favorite character was the dauhgter. At first I thought she was too much of a good-girl suck-up. But then she said "Can you imagine if I were REALLY like that?" and I realized she was just being sarcastic. What can I say I like a girl with attitude!

Why do you keep calling it a spinoff of That 70s Show?  It wasn't.  The two shows weren't even all that similar, other than the titles and being set in particular decades.

I've only seen it because they put it on right after Scrubs, but you're right; it isn't bad.  We need more mental illness themed humor shows.  Does anyone else remember Stark Raving Mad?
