What they hell was this Tom Geos to the Mayor crap.  I freakin love it.  Poorly photoshopped dancing avoidance bear oh my.  Children getting hurt is funny.

"I lost 13 of my children...5 of them to WIND DAMAGE!!!1" (er, something like that).

This show could be the new Dr. Katz.  With Bob Odenkirk and Tenacious D's involvement, it looks like it could be awesome.  David Cross is on Arrested Development, so everything looks good for the Mr. Show alumni.

Pffft.  More poorly animated crap that Cartoon Network tries to trick me into watching by putting it on between Futurama and InuYasha.  Make it stop.

Oh I'm sorry, this was more ORIGINAL than Inuyasha.  Durhurhur... lets make an anime about anthropomorthics and demons... and lets add some sexual tension! THAT'S REAL ORIGINAL!!
You still watch Futurama?

Wow.  Your use of the word "original" in all caps has totally convinced me that I was wrong.  Tom Goes to the Mayor is original all right.  That's why it's so much like Sealab, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and every other 15 minute long show on Adult Swim.

Actually, it's not on between Futurama or Inuyasha, so I don't know what your problem is. Unless you're one of those people who have to watch EVERYTHING on AS.  And Inuyasha's for fat 14 year old girls, anyway....haha

As for "Tom...", I've only seen the one episode that was on tonight, but I think there's promise.  It's much better than Sealab or Brak or the other Williams ST. crap.

Dave, have you actually seen an episode, or are you just talking out of your ass?  Because for a show with "limited animation," there's actually quite a bit of animation.  Sure, the character designs are 2-D, just like the video game Paper Mario.

I watched an episode.  It had something to do with setting up bear traps all over town, or some such nonsense.  One of the characters was voiced by Jack Black, but despite that, the show still sucked.

*Throws an Anime tome at David*
Go watch some real anime instead, Revenge of the Fireflies!

No offence, I just like to keep my running hate for mainstream anime fans like Dragon Ball Z and Inuyasha fans, you ever seen pics of there people at cosplay. evan's description is very accurate, Not to mention the horrible fanfiction these people could right I have more talent in my left hand's little finger combined with those little hacks.

Nurdy, I'm not sure what your definition of "real" anime is, but whatever it is, I've probably seen more of it than you have.  Don't be a snob.

Hmm "Revenge of the fireflies" is that a sequal to an amazing film called Grave of the fireflies. Anyway enough of Nurdy being an anime snob.

Now I do not have Cartoon Network but i do have my ways. So could someone please actually explain the basic premise of the show. Then i might track some episodes down to see who is right.

Poorly animated guy named Tom goes to see the poorly animated mayor of the poorly animated town of Jefferton.  Hilarity ensues.  (And by hilarity, I mean poorly animated antics of the type which stoned teenagers find amusing.)

It reminds me of Home Movies.

The WORST thing about the episode was Jack Black. He just didn't seem to fit the show. Other than that, it was hilarious.

I liked Tenacious D as the bear trap Store owners, it was pretty funny, and the animation was "original", and shouldn't be used against the show.  I will watch it again.

Isn't Patton Oswald going to be on the show?

Tenacious D was to obnoxious for the flow of the show. They were talking like normal people, then Jack Black came in with his "bububububu" thing and overacting. But the song was pretty funny. The animation takes nothing away, there were some hilarious sight gags (TV, mayor's hat, newspaper, bear).

For those of you that would like to experience the great yet misunderstood show Tom Goes To The Mayor from the first episode, watch this Sunday 9/25/05 at 1:30 AM (ok, technically Monday morning.)  To be honest the first couple episodes are my least favorite, but they're still funny.  The 3rd episode "WW Laserz" is one of my favorite though and is the first episode I saw.   :)

That's funny, the first couple of episodes were the only ones I liked.

I watched the first 4 or so episodes when they first aired.  I didn't like the show enough to watch any more of it past that.  I don't think I "misunderstood" the show, I just don't think it's good.

I had the misfortune of catching the "Pipe's Buffet" episode the other day. Do they go out of the way to make this show as repulsive as possible?

You didn't like Pipe Camp?  That's one of my favorite episodes.

Tom: "I'm just not 100 percent sure kids should be messing around with pipes."  :laff:

Everyone seems to like the first episode with Tenacious D., but I find almost every episode afterward to be funnier overall.

Toodle Day is awesome.  Vehicular Manslaughter (featuring Michael Ian Black) is an episode everyone should see at least once in their lifetime.  I think the funniest episode is Re-Birth, but if something from Pipe Camp repulsed you than forget this episode.  Re-Birth is one of the funniest things I've ever seen though  :)

Don't really like it.  It's kind of stupid and it's way too visually distracting

Guys, I'm sorry. There seems to be a lot of hate for this show, but they started airing it on Teletoon recently, and I absolutely love it.  Are there any fans of it here at all?

Too bad this show is gone, I really enjoyed it. But I guess it was for the better.

The new Tim and Eric awesome show is hilarious I think.

Then again I have no sense of humor.
