Allright people, this is another "in case that Futurama will return" sort of topic. It could be a poll but that usually limitates options and discussion.
What situations would you like to see with them in future episodes? To break down  is something unlikely considering results of KGKUAN (unless they would be forced to separation). Or perheps let their relationship to comic relief? Probably closest to the formula but many of us found it annoying. I kinda would be for getting them even closer since they are after all different typ of characters than Fry and Leela as well as their relationship. But what exactly do with it anyway? So now is your turn.

Another informative contribution by the lovely mint.

I would like the see the relationship quite far in the background, as it was starting to annoy me.  Perhaps Kif will finally snap and refuse to be used as a doormat, like he was in 300 Big Boys.  Honestly, there isn't anyhere really interesting for them to go.  Some will say the same about Fry and Leela, but that's an entirely differn discussion.

It doesn't really matter. They could still be in a relationship, but no attention would have to be called to it, unless the episode was focused around them, which wouldn't be a good idea, in my opinion. It could just be mentioned like relationships are in real life.
For example, Kif could tell someone, "I've never been happier than when I went out with Amy last week." Things like that would be fine.

I miss bitchy Kiff. He's gone too soft and spineless of late. (Yes, I know, he's supporter by a system of fluid filled bladders.) It just seems to me that when Kiff started going out with Amy he's lost his, and I quote, "Layer of Luvits." (Or however you spell his name.)

Yeah, his character really went down when he started going out with Amy. He was much better as Zapp's assisstant.

He doesn't sigh as much as he used to. I also miss Amy the party girl.  :(

I actually think that it's a lost opportunity that Amy wasn't more slutty (in light of new and famous heiresses), and Kif was at his best when annoyed with Zapp (A Taste of Freedom notably) but I think it's entirely plausible for the character to break up, just I don't see either of them ending it well... Amy seriously does love Kif and I don't see her utterly crushing him since as of now the character can't handle it, and Kif's air bladders are a bit deflated and I don't see him breaking up with Amy unless Zapp causes him to snap in general.

Amy gets sick of the way Kif licks her boots, and dumps him.  He is in his room bawling his eyes out when Zap asks him to scrub his ass or something.  Kif finally looses it, tells zap to piss off, quits his job and gets a better one (use your imagination.)  Because he is more self assertive and has a happier life, he no longer turns to petrolium jelly in Amy's presence, and she takes him back  :D

I was thinking more alone the lines of:

Fry overhears Amy complaining about how Kif has changed and he and Bender decide to try to remasculate him, but things get a bit out of hand, but by the end of the episode everything works out...somehow.

It sounds like the kind of crap they would try to pull on poor kif.  for an ending, how about one of fry and benders jackass plans puts amy in jepordy, and kif has to help her?

Apparently, it's Kif's natural reaction to be a doormat.  Which is funny for a while, but quickly gets old and tiresome (as been previously mentioned).  If the Kif/Amy relationship continues, there'd have to be some major shift in Kif's personality.  I don't think Amy dumping him would cause that, necessarily.  If anything, it would be Zapp's incessant stupidity that would drive Kif away from whining.  Or perhaps Kif could save the day by himself, therefore giving himself more confidence and less likely to be walked upon.

Of course, there is still possible premise about introducing Kifīs family which could be realized even just for one episode.

im not sure, i think that they should either break up (which is unlikely) or stay together but dont waste another ep on them again!

Well, as much as I donīt like KGKUAN, I belive there is a good material for sequel. As was hinted in my previous message, I would like to see return to Amphibios 9 where Kif disucuss the whole thing with his parents and siblings with interaction of both Amy and Leela.

I agree with kiffan, but I think Amy is waaaaaaay too shallow to realize what a doormat Kif actually is.  Like during AWitM, Amy never seemed to notice how often zapp was walkng over Kif, especially at the restaurant.  However, in WTBR, Kif did show some assertiveness and managed to lead the group in the cattle rustling, but when Zapp showed up?  BAM, Kif's the wussy doormat again.  Maybe if Kif stayed away from Zapp, he'd become his own person--er, amphibian.

The only thing I EVER found interesting about Kif and Amy's relationship was the line "Maybe we just made love..." in Where The Buggalo Roam, which really just served to highlight the fact that no one really knows how their interspecies relationship was supposed to...er...work. But that was ruined, to a point, by Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch.

I couldn't really see it going anywhere, to be honest.

Well, is true that it hasnīt so much plot heaviness as F/L relationship but as was proved in some fanfictions (Delicious surprise, Universe of malice) it can be pretty as a background plot. I actually thought that Kif could himself resignate to his job and join PE guys as regular. That would be great oppurtuinity for character devolepment.
