Haha My guess would be that the creators didn't want to mention it because it would upset the initial story/plot. On the other hand, there could be a hidden sub-plot in which her parents won't give her any hand outs because as with most rich people, they're tight wads.

After all, you don't become rich by spending all your money.

And that appartment looked pretty expensive, as does her wardrobe (not the everyday tracksuit, but her galla dress' and junk) and stuff, plus it could be at the end of a month. Do we ever see Amy's pocket? It magically appears and disappears in TSHL.

Sweatshirts are made for pockets. Form-hugging dresses are not.

But we don't know anything about form hugging dresses of the future.

I think that the main reason that Amy doesn't give them money is this: without the struggle and need for money, the afore mentioned episodes would be boring. I mean, almost everyone can relate to having some kind of money trouble. If the Planet Express crew simply got all of their money from the rich intern, we couldn't relate to that aspect of the show anymore.

Then again, early on in the season (TSHL) she had enough money to buy hundreds of games on the claw machine. I suppose that's just small change/they hadn't worked out that she was rich by then (Her wealth wasn't mentioned until Mars University, was it?)

Hey! 'ubergeeks' is such a strong word! We prefer the term 'losers with nothing better to do'.
Actually, TheLampIncident brings up a good point. Perhaps the Wongs aren't all that rich. But then again, how could they own so much of Mars, a large buggalo herd and a spacious estate?

I think the "we're not as rich as everyone thinks" is completely invalidated by the fact that they have their own sorority.

When you have a stamping gun for stuff that's not your property, you're pretty f'n rich.

Amy's parents probably have Amy's money, after all, they paid for the car in PYHOMS. Or, The writers didn't want that to happen because it is funnier when they somehow get away with stuff using stuff other than money.
