So, I was watching Love and Rocket when a thought struck me with a baseball bat. When Bender dumped the PES and the ship decided, after a long line of events, to fly into the quasar... Instead of disabling the carbonated logic matrix, why didn't the crew just change the personality of the ship back into a male persona?

Rhetorical question...

Feel free to answer and post your own. I'd like to see what others think.

I always thought it was a 2001: A Space Odyssey reference.  I guess there are more than one way to be wrong.

The episode referenced 2001. I referenced Trek. Live with it, man.

I am, but that is beside the point  :p

And, no, I don't miss all the jokes. I know about Trek. I just don't watch it. *shrug*

You should at least watch the Original Series. Especially if you're gay. I mean, I'm as straight as an Air Force runway, and even I get a little turned-on by Shatner.

I wish I could do that, but I have made myself a promise; that I will learn as much as possible about Star Trek, without ever watching any of it.  Purely by reading wikis and whatnot.

Let's just say, I don't know that much about Star Trek yet.

Star Trek is a part of your cultural heritage. Not watching it is like... like... like not reading Shakespeare, Dickens, Poe... it's like not watching Casablanca, not listening to Pink Floyd or The Rolling Stones. You cannot be considered a real person until you have.

Well, I have never seen myself as a real person, anyway, so I guess I was right all along.

They could have, but the ship would have slammed the panel on their hands, and they'd spend their last minutes wrapping it in bandages before BAM! They're knocked up a quasar!

Star trek seems cool, but I'm not cool enough. Pink Floyd is very nice. They should have made brickinthewall about bullies.

What was the this thread about? I'm kinda lost, there seems stuff about the PE ship being gay for Shatner and now an armed and armoured fat guy from the 'net.
