The title of this thread was meant to be "The "This One Is Really Good, But I Can Still Do Better!" Award for Best PEELer Photographer", but apparently that was too long for PEEL to handle. That's what she said!

But back on track:

For some reason PEEL tends to attract a lot of people with long, black, pulsating lenses. You know the ones. They speak a lot of gibberish about cameras and stuff. It’s really hard not to have your eyes glaze over while reading what they say in the photography thread, but every now and then they post the results of all their finger-thrusting button-pushing actions and it is just…marvellous. Who knew you could see insects that close up? Since when was the night sky so damn pretty? We have a moon?! What sorcery is this!

Please use this thread to discuss those PEELers who know the right way to make love to the camera - from behind.

Update: You can now start emailing your nominations! Please use the template provided and send it to the email address found in the linked thread. :)

Stuart B posts almost exclusively in the picture thread, and his stuff's pretty neat; [-mArc-] and Tachyon have likewise posted some awesome images.

Booze is actually quite a good photographer, he just doesn't usually post his stuff on PEEL.

Very tough call on this one I think. I'm tempted to suggest a sub-award which is "Best Photograph Taken by a PEEler" or something...except it's far too late to be suggesting that now...

I suppose they could be one and the same - the Best Photographer is the one who took the Best Photo (or the one I like the most, that is...)

Hmm. Yes, we already had the issue of splitting it into best photographer and best PEELer pic (as in, cam-whore type pics ;)). I guess when I'm putting my noms together for this I'm judging it by the pics I like and seeing who took them, which is..similar to choosing the best photo except...not. :shifty:

Hey guys

Just a reminder that everyone should use this template when emailing in their nominations, as it makes it easier for us when tallying, and also if you don't want to nominate anybody for a category it helps us know that rather than you just forgot to nominate for that category.

Cheers!

Take your time to get the right angle then vote for the best photographer in the poll above! 7 days you have until total annihilation. Or until the poll closes. What am I, a vengeful god?

I wouldn't know.  I voted for Stoob.

Nothing happens to you.  Only two people could see it anyways, and they're not anybody who is going to check.

The whole not voting for yourself isn't a rule, it's a social norm pointedly asserted toward the individual.  One should have enough pride in oneself, and realization that they contain awesomeness, such that they wouldn't need to vote for themselves.  Voting for yourself doesn't hurt other people in my opinion... if somebody wanted to do that, then by all means.  Voting for yourself hurts you though, because you don't trust the community to recognize you for your potentials.  Even if you never won anything, knowing that you got on a poll and had a good time about it should be enough validation for anyone.

Now, I'm aware winna has won several awards and that this sounds highly hypocritical, but I've never voted for winna with any of my accounts, and I've gotten that account deliberately banned before for these shenanigans.  Evaluate what I said on your own though, and discern whether it was truth inviting you to a better you or me just rambling about nothingness.

To me, self-votes kind of eliminate the point of the PEELies. I mean, I already know what I think of myself!

I nominate and vote for people in the peelies and potm because I think that sometimes a little validation goes a long way.
