Well, the same number of people voted for each of the people who made it to the whore-off. This means that a roughly equal portion of PEEL felt that these people were the biggest attention whores on the board, based on their conduct over 2011. Now that it's a tiebreaker situation, perhaps the votes will change.

We're already up to 26 voters, and although we have a leader... it's still anybody's to take. There have been over fifty voters for some of the polls so far.

I believe I can help to provide some context for you.

The housewife/mother that posted near-naked pictures of herself (I chose the tamest), claims she is the world's biggest nerd (yet claims to have more of a life than anybody here), refuses to let any argument that she becomes peripherally involved in be about anything other than her beliefs on the matter, believes herself to be the most attractive person on PEEL, and finds it impossible to believe that people might not agree with her on any issue, against two teenage internet spam whores.

As far as the polls go, you took an early lead in the last one. Then Nibbly caught up quickly, leaving Danny to make up a hell of a lot of ground. Which he did, once the closing date for the poll was announced. If you're going to suspect fake accounts of being involved, suspect them of voting for Danny.

I don't honestly think that fakes were involved though. The link for the PEELies subforum has been posted across facebook, emailed to people, and shared over IM with many people who have PEEL accounts but haven't posted in a while. Just part of the work that the council have been doing behind the scenes to make sure that the competition got going nicely.

In addition, [-mArc-] keeps nicely on top of the fake account situation. He can (and regularly does) go through the registration data and match up IPs from new accounts with those from established posters, for example. He also has other detection systems in place, and is able to spot fakes using different IP addresses. PEEL 2.0 is quite sophisticated, and fake account activity is quickly detected these days. Tallywhacker appears to be the only sockpuppet that [-mArc-] is willing to allow at the moment (and since that account is used by several people, I have no idea who it might have been used to vote for).

The people included on all of the polls were those with the most nominations overall. Including council nominations.

The people on this poll all received an equal number of votes in the previous poll, and so a tiebreaker was required.

I'm not sure why you decided to say "council" like that with little air-quotes. But I think it's fair to say based on the results of the previous poll that at least thirteen PEELers think you're not only an attention whore, but the biggest attention whore that PEEL has.

I'm leaning more towards Nibblonian Leader myself at this point. He's really been pretty whorish towards the back end of the year. But we'll see what the votes say.

I've spoken to the council (and a couple of people not on the council). If you're truly unhappy about being on the poll, then I'll remove you, and reset the votes for the tiebreaker, leia. Just say the word. The PEELies is meant to be fun. I don't want them to be overshadowed by multiple controversies and general dissatisfaction.

Personally I was a bit surprised to see leiapadme77 included, in that I was surprised she got so many votes for this. I doubt there's any point in her getting removed as I doubt she'll win this one now anyway. I can't speak for everyone, but I for example didn't originally vote for any of the three included in this poll. Now I have voted for Nibblonian Leader, so that's an extra vote for him right there. Of course that's assuming everyone who voted for these three originally stick by their votes, and those that didn't don't pick leiapadme77...

Contrary to so called "popular" belief, I'll have you know I could care less about getting attention from a bunch of Futurama nerds. I'm on PEEL when I have free time because I enjoy talking with other nerds. Not because I feel the need for your approval.

I don't think anyone has anything against you, and I wouldn't get too bothered about this poll if I were you, because as I said I doubt you'll win this. To me you're not the biggest attention whore, so hopefully a fair few others will agree too...
