Who thinks this smiley should be dealt with?  I really don't find any productive use in it at all aside from flaming people, which is lame.

  :finger:

I think marc should just take it off the list, and replace it with     or   :o

Most people are able to use the finger smily for the right reasons, like flaming FOX or Ferrari.  I say keep it.

Remove it. It doesn't shed a nice light on PEEL in general - particularly because most of the time people use it between themselves, at eachother. As Jon said, for flaming.
Replace it with a DROOLY smilie, which I've always said. I always need a  smilie!

All he would have to do is take it off the list, and make : finger : a different icon.  simple as just over writing on ftp.

what i cant figure out is why marc added it in the first place     he's normally so against stuff like that...

Get rid of it. Think of the negative influence on the children.

I said all along in the Complaints thread it should be replaced with a "peace" smiley.

But that's a pretty good example Tweeky.

Mods can't ban, Fred, only admins. Maybe take a little talk with Slimmy about this mArc-guy.

Stop bashing the finger-smiley. What did he ever do to you? Leave the poor guy alone!

Furthermore I'd like to third the move for a  smiley. Example:

We should get rid of it. No one really makes good use of it. I've only seen it used for flaming and useless stuff like that. I agree that it should be replaced with a drool or peace smiley. I like the drooling smiley. Every board needs a drooling smiley.

I reckon get rid of it. It seems overly aggressive for a friendly posting board... And after all, we can still all swear with gusto, should the occasion warrant it.

The 'mad' smiley works fine enough. We don't need a finger smiley. Kids will use it just because 'they can'.

Don't you think you're all whining just a little??  The finger's not that bad, and it easily replaces the need to use those 4-letter words, which most people find sooo much more offensive.  Although getting new smilies doesn't sound like a bad idea to me!

I don't see the main difference between me going "  :finger: you, man," versus "fuck you, man." People are going to swear, and if it's removed, then trolls are just going to type out 'fuck'. No solution.

However, I do like the drooling smilie. Very necessary, because the    is too fucking cutesy.

The finger smilie and the lovey dovey one are harmless.  Why all this debate?  Who gives a damn, really.  I've used em both and will continue to do so.     :finger::love::p

Since mArc hasn't got rid of it yet I assume that he won't, no more discussion seems to be needed.
