I think his 5 eps. will be Luck of the Fryish because I was one of the best on the commentary,  The Day the Earth Stood Stoopid cause he likes the Hypno Toad, Jurassic Bark, Space Pilot 3000 and Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings

Nope. The one with Matt Groening got pushed back till the 18th. The next two Sundays are going to be back to back repeats.  My source for this is the Simpsons Channel and they are usually pretty realible.

Wait, Fox is making a movie about some guy in the year 3000, Matt G is appearing on the Simpsons with bender dolls, and he is hosting Futurama episodes?

Sounds like something is going on...  or maybe just wishful thinking.

The movie is not being made by Matt, but the creator of King of the Hill and Beavis and Butthead.

Beavis and Butthead was disturbing. But it doesn't disturb me as much as Wallace & Grumet! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! O I have a phobia of clay animation. Gumby is exceptable. No clay animation!

Did you see it? It was so awesome! Homer pronounced Futurama wrong! That was pretty great, and Milhouse's Bender doll was great! Matt Groening seemed almost too nice! He's awesome!

Oops. Sorry. Mine was gonna be more general about Futurama cameos, but too late now. Anyway, I just thought that the ep. violated the "Futurama is real, Simpsons is not" rule, to recap.  ;)

Yeah, sorry about that. I think it was awesome! Matt Groening made like an ode to all Futurama fans! I think we deserved something like this, but we didn't expect it to be in this form. Awesome!

To you guys that missed it, shame shame. I did my part in making this thread, but sorry.

The first time Greoning appeared on one of his shows, and it was for Futurama! How awesome! I bet he's been waiting to appear on the show though. He did wait quite a while though.

Groening said in an interview that the writers just wrote his part in as a joke (meaning, it wasn't originally intended by to voiced by Groening).  But when he read that part he decided to "show them all" by actually doing the part.

Anyway, did anyone manage to capture it, or better yet give us a quick recap of what happened in the scene?

Wow, he sure cleaned himself up compared tot he "137th Simpsons Spectacular". Put on a bit of weight, got a hair transplant, left the Klan ...

Was that all that happened? He signed a few things and Homer talked about Futurama? Not that I'm complaining, I'm just curious.

Signed a few thing, drew some sketches, cut of locks of his hair...that sort of thing.

I'll see if I can be arsed to put together a transcript.

I think I remember the scene well enough (by the way, its not Homer who mentions Futurama).  I'll try, and maybe edit it when I get home for any errors.

(Some non-MG related dialogue ensues with Homer and Marge)
Hibbert (in Captain America outfit): A hee hee hee! Why its Matt Groening! (points)

Lenny (in George Jetson outfit): Wow! The creator of Futurama! (pronounces the first "a" as "ay" instead of "ah" )

Milhouse (in fallout boy outfit): Mr. Groening (prounounces it as "groaning" ), will you sign my Bender doll?

Matt: Sure, I'm also happy to give an autograph, on the street, at a restaurant, or on my private property! (signs the doll) But why be happy with just an autograph?  How about an original sketch? (hands a kid a Fry sketch)?  Or a snippet of my hair? (cuts of bit of own hair).  Don't forget to pull my beard! They say its good luck!

Amusing enough, though I should add its funnier when you actually hear it.

I guess I will have to wait another year before I get a chance to see it again.

Which ones do you think he will pick to view?

I'm guessing one with the hypno-toad, since that's his pretty much favorite character as said in "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid"

sounds fun!

I wish they had filmed table reads, I'd pay anything to see that. So he's introducing his favorites, correct? I wonder what he'll use that time to say. He was so adorable on The Simpsons in his crew jacket. Too bad the rest of the episode was bad, I wish it was just him for 22 minutes.

I laughed for a good five minutes after that ten seconds of Groening, and my parents just didn't get it. "Wow, he sure is nice to his fans!" Uh huh. Ah, the subtlety of sarcasm.. It's odd to see him like that though, when in his other appearances he is more stylized, looking rather like he does in Life in Hell.
