I reckon if Matt Groening were to ever announce Futurama's return, this would be the place. [/foolishoptimism]

it doesn't appear that cn is going in order with the episodes they are airing for this week, but they all seem to be in the same area of season 3, so either cn is stupid with their order, or groaning likes only the episodes in mid season 3

I hear it's been postponed, but I don't know why or how long.

I am officially ticked off!  CN didn't even have the common courtesy to tell us it was off.  I think we all need to head over to the Adult Swim forum and raise hell.

At least they had the courtesy to not advertise it if they weren't going to have it happen this week.

Apparently, they're going to reschedule it in July.  I hate to say it, but it apppears Cartoon Network has pulled a Fox on us.  According to an official on the Adult Swim forums, they didn't announce the change because they didn't think anybody knew about it in the first place!  I guess they don't read their own forums.

Maybe theyre just waiting until the finish airing all the episodes in order. Then after TDHAIPT (ruffly in July) they'll air Groening's favorites.

And yes, unfortunately, it does look like CN pulled a FOX on us. You'd think that they'd pay attention to their 2nd highest rated show.

Grr! Now I'm annoyed! And I thought they were gonna play AWITM tonight, too. I'd been wanting to see that episode, I haven't in two years.

they played AWITM last week or sometime like that, either way, they played it this month, looks like you missed it, sorry,   :(

and by the way, i am so pissed, i seriously am starting to feel the same way about adult swim as i do about fox, damn fox and adult swim. although i won't give up on AS yet, they can still redeem themselves by doing the matt thing in july, but if they don't, they go in the fox pile.

I'm pissed, too.  But I'm not going to write off Cartoon Network just yet.  After all, if Futurama does come back in one form or another, it will be largely because of them.

Ah come on, Fox did a hell of a lot more to get the Futurama community this angry at it. If all Cartoon Network has to do is announce something and then say it will have to be postponed until later to get us as mad at them as we are at Fox, then that's just plain weird (for lack of a more dramatic adjective).

The problem was that they didn't tell us it was postponed until the day it was supposed to be on.  And even then, it was just mentioned in a forum somewhere.  I mean, all they had to do was take a cursory glance at their own forums to know that there were a LOT of people expecting it to be on. Bottom line: We should have been told.

i'm not mad because they postponed it, i'm mad because they didn't tell us they postponed it, i was all excited and then, let down, and i never said they were like fox, i said they were STARTING to become like fox, and i was STARTING to think of them badly, never that i was and they were, but also that they could redeem themselves

Yes, I'm sure that that's what that is.  It couldn't possibly be referring to that new detective show called Case Closed that they've been advertising on Adult Swim for the past few weeks.

Someone pointed out on Adult Swim's msg board that Adult Swim likes to use special situations like this to make announcements. I remember the special New Years edition where it was announced that The Brak Show was cancelled and that Space Ghost Coast to Coast was returning (ugh!). And to see the same footage used when they announced that The Brak show was returning.

Man, my theory is pretty thin, I thought there was more to it then that.

This is nothing more than conjecture, but maybe Matt has something to announce, and he needs to hold off until July to make sure it's *official?*

Again, I'm just throwing out a wild guess.  But it'd sure be great if it were true.

That'd be great, but I refuse to get my hopes up.  That being said, I can't shake this gut feeling that we haven't seen the last of Futurama in one form or another.

I still like the comics alot. I kinda consider them the next best thing to an episode (next to the videogame). And you really have to appreciate that...

"Special" annoucement? Egads! You may have something there! Oh, that would be perfect, especially after bursting my bubble with the scooching up of those episodes.

Yeah, this rescheduling crap sucks, but at least I didn't miss it. I completely forgot about it until today. I was watching VH1's best week ever, and it said "check out our website for all the happenin stuff" or whatever and I saw a picture of Matt Groening as a cartoon on the page, and it came to me! I almost got a bad concussion from bashing my head into the wall so hard.

Hey, any publicity we can get is great. Thank you, Best Week Ever! Is the Matt G. thing already in the can or has it yet to be taped? I mean was it recorded a long time ago or is this an oppertunity to hear new information?

Allrighty then, the new time slot chosen for the Groening appearences is July 25-29.
So for those of you who're actually going to get a chance to see them, start being filled with cautious optimism all over again...

Groening Appearance Not Happening

After months of touch and go, it is official. Matt Groening and the people at Adult Swim could not come to a formal agreement after both sides pushed his appearance back several times. We repeat, he will NOT be appearing on Adult Swim to feature his favorite episodes. Sorry gang.

Crap! Crap crap crap! That really sucks, I wanted to see him. And since Adult Swim is starting to go downhill with some of their new shows, I would have liked to see Matt G. on.
